This being a scheduled Public Hearing the following items were presented
to the Board of County Conmissioners for their consideration:
Consent Calendar
Chairman Pro-tern Johnson opened the hearing with the first item on the
agenda, the consent calendar as follows:
01) Bill paying, subject to approval by County Manager
02) County Veterans Service Officers monthly report for December
03) Bid acceptance for cleanin9 contract.
Conmissioner Gates questioned the flgures provided on item number three,
the cleaning contract.
Paul Gregg, Ass't. Supervisor, Buildin9 & Grounds, explained the figures
to the Board. He stated the contract only lncreased by 3% from last year as
the rest of the difference is additional cleaning not provided for in the
current contract. He reconmended the Board accept the bid from ServiceMaster
of Vail as they have the employees and eguipment to maintain the building and
have proven themselves in the past. Medlna Enterprises bid was $1,000.00
lower but in his opinion did not have the equipment or manpower for the size
of County buildings.
Conmissioner Gates moved to approve the consent calendar as presented,
consisting of the following:
01) Bill paying, subject to approval by County Manager
02) County Veterans Service Officer's monthly report for December
03) Bid acceptance for cleaning contract.
Chairman Pro-tern Jolmson seconded the motion. Of the two voting
corrmissioners the vote was declared unanimous. Chairperson Phillips was not
present at this hearing.
Liquor License Applications
Mary Jo Berenato, Deputy County Attorney, stated the next item on the
agenda was liquor licenses.
Chairman Pro-tern Jolmson moved to adjourn as the Board of County
corrmissioners and reconvene as the Local Liquor Licensing Authority.
Corrmissioner Gates seconded the motion. Of the two voting corrmissioners
the vote was declared unanimous.
Ms. Berenato stated no applicants will be present at this hearing.
Earlene Roach, County Liquor Inspector, explained the agenda had been
changed twice and the applicants did not have the opportunity to make time to
appear. She stated all applicants were called and informed they did not have
to be present.
Chairman Pro-tern Johnson expressed concerns with proceeding as all other
applicants are required to be present.
Discussion followed on whether the applicants should be required to be
present or if the Board can proceed.

Commissioner Gates moved to table liguor license applications for Food
and Deli, Fitzsirrmons Motor Corrpany, Cardl.nale's Italian Restaurant, Beaver
Creek Lodge Associates and the Terrace Restaurant. The Board instructed
Staff to schedule another hearing and send letters to the applicants
informin;J them of the new hearings and requesting their presence.
Chal.rmaI1 Pro-tern Johnson seconded the motion. Of the two voting
commissioners the vote was declared nnanimous.
There being no further business to be brought before the Board the
meeting was adjoumed nntil January 31, 1994.
