BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 2006- Ow 1/
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION OF ELECTION JUDGES IN THE
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
WHEREAS, Eagle County, Colorado ("County") is a political subdivision ofthe State
of Colorado ("State"), duly organized and existing pursuant to the laws and the Constitution of
the State; and
WHEREAS, compensation for election judges must be determined and paid by the
governing body calling the election pursuant to Section 1-6-115 (3), C.R.S.;
WHEREAS, in all elections, including primary and general elections, each judge
serving in the precincts on election day shall receive not less than five dollars as compensation
for services provided as judge at any election; and
WHEREAS, in addition to this compensation each election judge and student election
judge may be paid expenses and reasonable compensation for attending election schools which
may be established by the county clerk and recorder; and
WHEREAS, the hourly rate paid to judges by Eagle County was $11.00 per hour during
the 2004 and 2005 Elections; and
WHEREAS, it is difficult to find judges who are willing and able to work the required
Election Day hours of 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT, election judges shall receive compensation based on an hourly rate of$12.00 per
hour, in addition to expenses and reasonable compensation for attending election schools.
THAT, student judges shall receive compensation based on an hourly rate of$11.00 per
hour, in addition to expenses and reasonable compensation for attending election schools.

THAT, supply judges shall receive a fee of$50.00 for returning the election supplies,
election equipment and the ballots to the designated election official.
THAT, the Board hereby finds, determines and declares that this Resolution is necessary
for the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of the County of Eagle, State of
Colorado.
MOVED, READ AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of the
