HomeMy WebLinkAboutR06-048 - honoring private first class Tyson Ivie Commissioner ~ moved adoption of the following Resolution BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 2006.{)Lf~ HONORING PRIVATE FIRST CLASS TYSON IVIE FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO AND SACRIFICE FOR EAGLE COUNTY AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WHEREAS, Private First Class Tyson Ivie, a Red Canyon High graduate and former Gypsum resident, was assigned to the 101 st Army Infantry Airborne's 11 th Charlie Division in Iraq; and WHEREAS, Private First Class Tyson Ivie, a military occupational specialist was wounded on March 10, 2006 by enemy mortar fire that hit the fortified building he was working in; and WHEREAS, Private First Class Tyson Ivie was airlifted to a military hospital in Germany where he underwent surgery and on March 12,2006 was flown from Germany to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. for several days where he was released to return home to Gypsum; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado on behalf of the citizens of Eagle County extends their gratitude to and commends Tyson Ivie for his courage while in service to his country; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO: THAT, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado honors PFC Tyson Ivie for his contributions and sacrifice to Eagle County and the United States of America. MOVED, READ AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado, at its regular meeting held the 17th day of April, 2006.
