RESOLUTION

THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RECOMMEND DOWD JUNCTION AS THE U.S: FOREST SERVICE HEADQUARTERS FOR THE HOLY CROSS
DISTRICT
"WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners hereinafter referred to
as the "Board" did on November 21, 1977 hold a hearing and received testimony
with respect to the location of the Headquarters building for the U.S. Forest
Service, Holy Cross District in the White River National Forest;
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the area commonly known as
Dowd Junction is the best location for such District Headquarters; and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined said location is in compliance
with the Eagle County, Colorado Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Board believes that Dowd Junction location is the
best in terms of serving the public;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners
of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado;
THAT the Board hereby recommends to the government of the United
States of America and further urges the United States of America government,
locating the Headquarters building of the U.S. Forest Service, Holy Cross
District in the White River National Forest at the area within the County of Eagle
State of Colorado, commonly known as Dowd Junction;
That the Board hereby finds, determines and declares
that this Resolution is necessary for the public health, welfare and
safety in the County of Eagle, State of Colorado.
MOVED, READ AND UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED at a special meeting of
the Board of County Commissioners, County of Eagle, State of Colorado, held
on February 15, 1978.
