This system is designed to accommodate the maximum daily flows for 25 people. This OWTS consists of one sewer line from the lodge. The primary treatment for the system consists of two Valley Precast 2,000 gallon, single compartment tanks in series with an effluent filter and alarm placed at the outlet tee of the second tank. The primary treatment tanks are followed by a 500 gallon Valley Precast single-compartment recirculating/dose tank which will send wastewater to an Advantex AX-100 pod for nitrification using an Orenco PF3005 pump. Nitrified effluent flows to the splitter valve for recirculation to the first 2,000 gallon tank for denitrification then is dosed to an automatic distribution valve (Orenco V6605 ADV), set level at the high point of the system and made accessible at grade. The ADV will alternate dosed effluent to 960 square feet of soil treatment area between two beds, each consisting of 5 rows of 16 Infiltrator Quick 4 Plus Standard chambers for a total of 80 chambers. The floats will be set to dose 134 gallons per dose. Maintain all elevations and setbacks. NOTE: The contractor must verify that all electrical components and inspections are covered under the electrical permit associated with the Orenco Vericom control panel and pump connections. The alarm must be connected to a separate circuit. Additional pump details are on the design drawing. Advantex systems must conform to the CDPHE technology approval letter dated May 1, 2018. Permit has been revised to include lift station design. Design is accepted on the following conditions being met prior to final approval: 1)Calculations used to determine pump size in lift stations will be submitted. 2)Setback distances to following locations need confirmation: Soil Treatment Area (STA) to pond; STA to culvert; STA to water feature; Lift Station #1 Force main to water feature. If force main is within 50’ of water feature, the line must be double encased per EC OWTS Regulations Table 7-1. Contact Eagle County Environmental Health and the design engineer well in advance of requesting inspections prior to backfilling any component of the OWTS. The design engineer is responsible for conducting all inspections necessary to certify the installation and assure functionality of the system. Because reductions are taken in the size of the STA, proof of an active operations and maintenance contract must be provided with final certification. System certification, along with photos and a record drawing is required to be submitted to, and approved by, Eagle County Environmental Health prior to the use of the system or occupancy of the dwellings. Our observations and recommendations are presented in this report. The services are supplemental to Kumar & Associates agreement for professional services to Kompass Kapital Management dated December 28, 2020. We previously designed the OWTS for the lodge/ADU as submitted in our report dated March 24, 2022, Project No. 20-7-783.02. The system was designed for a maximum daily load of 25 people. The system was installed by Shoup Land Development. We performed our as-built evaluation on December 7, 2023; June 21, August 1, 16, and 30, and September 13, 2024; and June 23, 2025. The OWTS components observed included: lift stations, sewer lines, septic tanks, advanced treatment system, effluent lines, automatic distribution valve (ADV), and soil treatment area (STA) and the locations of these components. The installation and locations of the system components were verified as shown on Figure 1. Pictures of the OWTS components made during the site visits are included with this report. The distance locations to the septic tank shown on Figure 1 were made by taping. On June 23, 2025, after power had been supplied to the pump, a pump performance test was performed with adequate head pressure observed. The sewer lines exited the building at three locations. The lift stations and pressure main sewer lines to the septic tanks were designed by IMEG. The changes are acceptable to us. It is our opinion that the OWTS was installed in general conformance with the above-referenced design. The observations and recommendations presented above are based on our site observations and our experience in the area. We make no warranty either express or implied. Alterations to the system or improper backfill and site grading could affect the operation and effectiveness of the OWTS.
