OF THE
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 82- P{ N
IN RE THE MATTER OF THE 1982 MILL LEVY FOR BEAVER CREEIz
METROPOLITAN DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the
County of Eagle, State of Colorado, hereinafter referred to
as the "Board," is a political subdivision of the State of
Colorado, which is authorized to act pursuant to the
Constitution and Laws of the State of Colorado; and
WHEREAS, Beaver Creek Metropolitan District is a
taxing authority created pursuant to the Statutes of the
State of Colorado; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article I of Title 39 of the
Colorado Revised Statutes, 1973, as amended, the sole
responsibility and right of the Board in reviewing the mill
levy assessed by the Beaver Creek Metropolitan District is to
certify that levy to the Eagle County Assessor and, except
for procedural matters, the Board does not have the authority
to review or challenge a mill levy set by another taxing
entity; and
WHEREAS, the assessed value of property for 1981, in
regards to taxes due and payable in 1982, was Four Million
Four Hundred Twenty -Eight Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty
Dollars and No /Cents ($4,428,730.00), and the assessed value
of the aforesaid property in 1982, for tax year 1983, was
Fifteen Million Nine Hundred Ninety -Five Thousand Eight
Hundred Ninety Dollars and No /Cents ($15,995,890.00), which
constitutes an increase in such assessed value of
approximately two hundred sixty -one percent (261%); and
WHEREAS, the Beaver Creek Metropolitan District mill
levy for the year 1981 was 24.855 mills, and for the year
1982 will be 35.00 mills, as a result of the Department of
Local Affairs' approval for

WHEREAS, between 1981 and 1982, the mill levy for
Eagle County has not shown the same increase, and over a five
year period, the increase in the Beaver Creek Metropolitan
District mill levy has greatly exceeded the percentage
increase for Eagle County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of
County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of
Colorado:
THAT, the Board does not endorse the increased mill
levy for Beaver Creek Metropolitan District and the action of
the Department of Local Affairs in approving said increase.
THAT, the Board is of the further opinion that the
aforementioned increase in the mill levy for Beaver Creek
Metropolitan District belies the trust imposed upon public
officials to conserve a tax base and not put undue burden on
citizen property owners.

its regular meeting held the o day of December, 1982.
