HomeMy WebLinkAboutR82-044 Supplemental Budget for Criminal Justice Grant Awardr RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION No. 82- SUPPLEMENTARY BUDGET AND APPROPRIATION, AND TRANSFER OF MONIES BETWEEN VARIOUS BUDGETS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE - DIVISION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE GRANT AWARD - PROGRAM REIMBURSEMENT WHEREAS, on the 7th day of December, 1981, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado, hereinafter referred to as the "Board" did adopt its 1982 calendar year budget; and WHEREAS, subsequent thereto the Eagle County Sheriff was notified of his right to participate in a Criminal Justice Grant Award being administered by the County Sheriff's of Colorado, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the Sheriff with the concurrence of the Board desires to participate in the aforesaid Criminal Justice Grant Award Program, hereinafter referred to as "Program ", commencing July 1, 1982; and WHEREAS, the Sheriff shall be reimbursed for travel expenses incurred in transferring juveniles from the Eagle County jail to juvenile detention facilities in other areas pursuant to standards and regulations of the Program; and WHEREAS, the Sheriff shall also be entitled to obtain reimbursement for any municipal police department within Eagle County which also participates in the Program; and WHEREAS, it is currently estimated that the local law enforcement agencies in Eagle County will incur costs in the amount of $ 2,000.00 by participating in this program for the remainder of the 1982 fiscal year or for the period of time commencing July 1, 1982, and ending December 31, 1982; and WHEREAS, the Sheriff requires a Supplemental Budget and Appropriation in the amount of $ 2,000.00 to offset the above described anticipated expenditures, which expenditures shall be totally reimbursed by unanticipated and unassured revenue from a Criminal Justice Division Grant administered by the County Sheriff's of Colorado, Inc.; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 29 -1 -111.5 and 29- 1- 111.6, respectively, C.R.S. 1973, as amended, this Resolution as proposed has been published in full'one time in a newspaper having general circulation within the territorial limits of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners, County of Eagle, State of Colorado: THAT the Board hereby and herewith authorizes the transfer from the Miscellaneous Department Budget within the General Fund the total amount of $ 2,000.00 to the Sheriff's Budget within the General Fund for the purpose of participating in a program sponsored by the County Sheriff's of Colorado concerning transferring juveniles from the Eagle County jail to juvenile detention facilities in other areas. THAT the aforesaid monies so transferred shall be placed and designated within a separate line item in the Sheriff's budget entitled "Juvenile Transports ", and shall be used solely for expenditures made pursuant to the juvenile detention program described hereinabove. That the Board hereby and herewith authorizes a Supplementary Budget and Appropriation in the total amount of $ 2,000.00 to the revenue line item entitled "Juvenile -2- V 1 Transport Grant Award" within the General Fund for the purpose of receiving unanticipated revenues in the form of reimbursement from the County Sheriff's of Colorado pursuant to a Colorado Division of Criminal Justice Grant to offset those expenditures incurred by the Sheriff in participating in the juvenile detention program described hereinabove. THAT the Board hereby and herewith requests and directs the Eagle County Treasurer and the Eagle County Accounting Department to take any and all steps necessary to effectuate the intent and provisions of this Resolution. THAT the Administrator is hereby requested and directed to transmit a certified copy of this Resolution to all affected County Departments and offices and to the officer of the County whose duty it is to draw warrants or orders for the payment of money; THAT the Administrator is hereby requested and directed to file a certified copy of this Resolution with the Division of Local Government in the Department of Local Affairs. THAT the Board hereby finds, determines and declares that this Resolution is necessary for the public health, safety and welfare of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado. MOVED, READ, AND UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners, County of Eagle, State of Colorado, held this 27th day of July, 1982.
