of the following Resolution:
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION No. 2024 - 080
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF EAGLE COUNTY VETERANS IN HONOR OF
VETERANS' DAY NOVEMBER 11, 2024
WHEREAS, to honor the contributions that service members have made to the cause of
peace and freedom around the world, the United States Congress has designated (5 U.S.C.
6103(a)) that November 11 of each year shall be set aside as a legal public holiday to honor our
Nation's veterans; and
WHEREAS,Eagle County is home to thousands of military veterans and their families
who have contributed to safety and freedom of their country and actively contribute to the Eagle
County community through teaching programs in the schools, providing scholarships to
deserving graduating high school seniors, participating in funerals and memorial services,
placing flags on veterans' gravesites every Memorial Day, contributing thousands of hours to the
community rummage sale, supporting families of active duty service personnel and promoting
patriotism and love of country; and
WHEREAS, the Eagle County Veteran Services Program works to combat
homelessness, promote emotional well-being, prevent suicide, help finding and maintaining
employment, assist with emergency needs, provide assistance in applying for benefits and
support veterans and active duty service personnel families; and
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County is deeply committed
to supporting veterans and their family members beyond the filing of compensation and medical
claims to all aspects of a veteran's life through Eagle County Veteran Services Program
including outreach, community partnerships and additional resources for Eagle County's veteran
community.
NOW, THEREFORE,be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of the County
of Eagle, State of Colorado:
THAT the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County honors Eagle County's
Veterans and their families.

THAT the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County desires to acknowledge,
support, and further the Eagle County Veteran Services Program.
THAT, all Eagle County citizens join together to observe Veterans' Day November 11,
2024 and to honor the special men and women who have served this country.
THAT, the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County finds, determines, and
declares that this resolution is necessary for the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens
of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado.
