High Country Engineering 923 Cooper Ave. Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Re: Soil Profile and Perc Results 1714 Cedar Dr. Basalt, CO Dear Mr. Walter: Eagle County Building P.O. Box 179 500 Broadway Eagle, Colorado 81631-0179 On August 14, 20011 conducted a percolation test and observed a soil profile boring at the above property owned by Sean Kelly and Debbie Redmount. The profile hole revealed 2 feet of topsoil overlying sandy loam soil with cobbles and boulders in a silty sand matrix to the hole depth of 8 feet. The percolation test results indicate an infiltration rate of approximately 11.4 minutes per inch. The site has a pond, at least two small streams, grade changes and two driveways of which one is no longer in use. Therefore, this department is requiring a site plan of a system designed for a 3- bedroom home by a professional engineer meeting Eagle County ISDS requirements. If you have any questions regarding this matter please call me at 970-328-8758. Sincerely William T. Carlson, REHS Environmental Health Specialist II October 24, 2001 Eagle County Environmental Health Department Attn: Bill Carlson P. O. Box 179 Eagle, CO 81631 Re: 1714 Cedar Drive, Eagle County, Colorado HCE File Number 2011082.59 Dear Ray: On October 23, 2001, High Country Engineering personnel observed the construction of the ISDS for 1714 Cedar Drive, Basalt within Eagle County, Colorado. One water tight 1000-gallon septic tank, and 22 standard Infiltrator units has been installed in a trench configuration, but no backfilling had taken place. The septic tank was located within twenty feet of an existing pond, but the tank had been prepped through grouting and by wrapping the tank with a Bituthene watertight membrane. The sewer and effluent lines were constructed of C900 PVC and all joints had been excessively encased with concrete to prevent seepage. The effluent line was also sleeved with additional pvc pipe at the driveway bend. Approximately 8 Infiltrator units had been installed at an excessive depth of 7-feet. The owner and contractor were advised backfill to a maximum depth of 6-feet and convert the inspection wells into air/vent inspection wells to provide increased oxygen levels within the chamber units. The lower side of the easterly trench had also been lined with an - impermeable liner. Otherwise, the installation of the system was in conformance with the intent of the design. If you have any questions, or need additional information, please contact us. Sincerely, HIGH COUNTRY ENGINEERING, INC. Roger D. Neal, P.E. Project Manager RDN/djw 9Z Cooper Avenue, . Bituthene Primer WP-3000 promotes good initial adhesion and more importantly, excellent permanent adhesion of Bituthene membranes. The VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) content is 100 g/L and it meets the U.S. E.P.A. Volatile Organic Compound Emission Standards for Architectural Coatings. Use Bituthene Primer WP-3000 is used to prime all structural concrete, masonry or wood surfaces on which Bituthene membranes will be applied. Bituthene Primer WP-3000 is used for vertical and horizontal applications at 5°C (40°F) or above. Application Bituthene Primer WP-3000 is packaged "ready to use." Do not dilute with water or solvent. Apply by spray or roller. For best results use a professional grade, pump -type compressed air sprayer with a brass fan tip nozzle. Apply Bituthene Primer WP-3000 to clean surfaces at a coverage rate of 12-15 m2/L (500 - 600 ft2/gal). Coverage should be uniform. Primer should not be applied so heavily that it puddles or runs. In addition, its patented formulation promotes the adhesion of Bituthene membranes to green concrete and damp surfaces. The VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) content is 440 g/L and it meets the U.S. E.P.A. Volatile Organic Compound Emission Standards for Architectural Coatings. Use Bituthene Primer B2 is used to prime all structural concrete, masonry or wood surfaces on which Bituthene membranes will be applied. Bituthene Primer B2 is used to prime green concrete (less than seven day cure for normal structural concrete). It is also used to prime damp concrete, masonry or wood surfaces on which Bituthene waterproofing membranes will be applied Bituthene Primer B2 is used for vertical and horizontal applications at -4°C (25T) or above. Application Bituthene Primer B2 may be applied by roller or brush. Use a heavy nap roller made of natural material, such as lamb's wool. Apply it to clean surfaces at a coverage rate of 6-8 m2/L (250 - 350 ft /gal). Do not apply to frozed concrete or to areas with standing or visible water. Do not use during wet weather. Allow Bituthene Primer B2 to dry one hour or until tack -free. Deep puddles of primer should be avoided as this will lengthen drying time. Rollers or brushes should be dipped into pans.
