Box 179 500 Broadway Eagle, CO 81631 Dear Laura and Bill, Here is my long awaited application for my septic system. Thank you both very much for being soo helpful with my questions leading up to this application. Please be assured that all of my preliminary investigations were done in the spirit of trying to be efficient, and to be sure that I was following proper procedure. I have included a fee for the extra site visit you made to my lot. I have included a drawn site plan as well as a topographic survey of the site. I hope all the necessary information is in place. Please note that I have indicated 2 possible sites for the leach field. The excavator said that, depending on your official sizing of the leach field based on the perc test and soil profile results provided, we may not have enough room to do the whole leach filed above the old foundation hole identified on both site plans. I guess we will make that determination when we get the sizing information from you. Please call me with any questions. Thanks Again, Sincerely, !. The study was conducted in accordance with our agreement for geotechnical engineering services to you dated March 19, 2001. The data obtained and our recommendations based on the proposed construction and subsurface conditions encountered are presented in this report. Evaluation of potential geologic hazard impacts on the site are beyond the scope of this study. Proposed Construction: The proposed residence will be a two story wood frame structure above a walkout basement level and located on the site in the area shown on Fig. 1. Ground floor is proposed to be slab -on -grade. Cut depths are expected to range between about 3 to 10 feet. Foundation loadings for this type of construction are assumed to be relatively light and typical of the proposed type of construction. The septic disposal system is proposed to be located downhill and west of the building site. If building conditions or foundation loadings are significantly different from those described above, we should be notified to re-evaluate the recommendations presented in this report. Site Conditions: The site is located uphill of the cul-de-sac of Knight Road. The ground surface in the building area is moderately steep down to the south. The lot is vegetated with grass, weeds and scattered sage brush. Cobbles and boulders are exposed on the ground surface. Subsurface Conditions: The subsurface conditions at the site were evaluated by excavating two exploratory pits in the building and septic disposal areas at the approximate locations shown on Fig. 1. The logs of the pits are presented on Fig. 2. PIT 1 ELEV.= 1014' PIT 2 ELEV.= 1022' 0 m a 5 L_ Q N O 10 LEGEND: WC=9.7 •o. Disturbed bulk sample. _ J FPractical refusal to digging with backhoe on hard sandstone. NOTES: 1. Exploratory pits were excavated on March 28, 2001 with a Cat 416c backhoe. 2. Locations of exploratory pits were measured approximately by pacing from features on the site plan provided. 3. Elevations of the exploratory pits were obtained by interpolation between contours on the site plan provided. 4. The exploratory pit locations and elevations should be considered accurate only to the degree implied by the method used. 5. The lines between materials shown on the exploratory pit logs represent the approximate boundaries between material types and transitions may be gradual. 6. No free water was encountered in the pits at the time of excavating. Fluctuations in water level may occur with time. 7.
