(formerly Chen -Northern, Inc.) has performed a percolation test at the site referenced above. The test was performed on June 30, 1994 and we returned on July 1,. 1994 to observe a profile pit which had been excavated slightly north of the percolation test holes. The profile pit was excavated to a depth of approximately 5 feet where backhoe refusal occurred. The soils encountered in the profile pit consist of about 1.5 feet of clayey silt topsoil overlying a clayey silt with cobbles to a depth of 2.5 feet. Highly weathered basalt bedrock was excavated from 2.5 to 5 feet. No free water was observed in the profile pit. Percolation testing was performed in three hand dug holes in the -general location of the proposed leach field which had been soaked the day before our testing. The results of the percolation testing are presented in the attached Table I. The results indicate the subsoils have a relatively constant percolation rate which would normally be acceptable for a conventional infiltration septic disposal system. However, a conventional system may not be feasible because of the shallow bedrock. The selection of system type should be performed by the system designer in accordance with Eagle County regulations. If there are any questions or if we may be of further service, please call. Respectfully Submitted, HUNTINGDON ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONME/NTAL,INC Fred R.
