Percolation test holes had been dug in the bottom of the backhoe pits and soaked by others. Percolation tests were performer on August 27, 1999 by a representative of Hepworth- Pawlak Geotechnical, Inc. The percolation test results are presented on Table L The percolation test results indicate an in filtration rate between 9 and 15 minutes per inch_ Based on our findings an infiltration septic system appears feasible at the tested site. The findings of our observations and recommendations for the foundation design are presented in this report. The services were performed in accordance with our agreement for professional engineering services to you, dated June 11, 2009. Site Development: A new modular home above a basement will replace the mobile home that originally occupied the site. Ground Engineering Consultants conducted a geologic study, report dated September 19, 2006 and update report dated September 20, 2007, and Colorado Geological Survey provided a review report dated September 18, 2007for the Grumbacher property subdivision. CTLIThompson conducted a subsoil study, report dated May 5, 2009 for the proposed residence. The studies all indicate variable topography and ground conditions. Subsurface Conditions: At the time of our site visit on June 16, 2009, two exploratory pits were dug in the proposed building site shown on Figure 1. The soils exposed in the pits were variable and consisted of sandy clay to clayey sand in Pit 1 and about 4 feet of fill and organic clay above siitstone/gypsum rock in Pit 2. Results of swell -consolidation testing performed on samples taken from the pits, shown on Figures 3 and 4, indicate relatively low to moderately high compressibility potential under conditions of loading and wetting. No free water was encountered in the pits and the soils were slightly moist to moist. Conclusions and Recommendations: The proposed building area is bordered by apparent sinkholes as described in the previous reports. Considering the erratic ';ukr iri 41-illy) • Color-aJoSprings '19:631)-;50' • ii-trrl,ri, E>r-I(;-ly:ti) Matt Grumbacher June 30, 2009 Page 3 building site, deep exploratory drilling could be performed. It is possible the data obtained by subsurface exploration could change the recommendations contained in this letter. Our services do not include determining the presence, prevention or possibility of mold or other biological contaminants (MOBC) developing in the future. If the client is concerned about MOBC, then a professional in this special field of practice should be consulted. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please call our office.
