The property at 2910 Cedar Dr. (changed to 3000 Cedar Dr.) and owned by Jeff Friday has not been built on. I
spoke to Mr. Friday and he stated that his project "fell apart" and nothing has been done, however, he expects to
begin again in the Spring, 1999.

I am requesting an extension on my ISDS permit, it is still pending at this
time (still awaiting submittal of site plan). I plan to begin construction in the
spring of 1998. Please advise me if there is anything else I need to do (I'd
hate to lose the permit fee already paid)

Dear Jeff: DANNI.M.FURAMALA
RONALD D. LUCM)
On Friday, August 15, 1997 1 made a site visit to review site -conditions for the installation of aseptic
system for your proposed home and to perform percolation tests for designing the new. system. The soils .
on the site and from the profile excavated for the percolation test showed variable soils ConcistinY of silts.
cobbles; sand ela ,and boulders.B.edrocic was not encountered in the profile hole, but was anticipated
to be
within 15 to 20- .—G'round water was not encountered in the profile hole and w cords'show
eet.
that water is more than 650-feet dowiq Percolation tests resulted in perc rates of 5 t 10 inutes per
inch, (design 10 MPI). The new tests showed results that were better then the original coiation'rates
hi P Geotech found during their testing. The new perc holes we're located to the East of the V 'na es
and seamed to encounter soils that were slightly more sandy.
The proposed home is to be a 3 bedroom residence.. This would require a 1,250 gallon septic tank to be
installed. Based on the bedrooms, soil conditions, perc rates, and site information a standard•leach filed
using itlfi___ 1trators can be installed on the site to serve your new home. The system will consist.of 40
infiltratvrs; 5 rows of 8 infiltrators in each row, or 15-feet wide X 48-feet long. Tbis size of system will
easily fit into the area located for the field and w411 provide the home with a safety factor to accommodate..
the varying areas of clay. I have attached a design notes sheet to this letter for more information.
-This system in my opinion does not need to be designed by a professional engineer, so these are my
recommendations for your system: You may send them to the Eagle County Health Office for their review
and comment prior to the issuance of a septic permit -
If you have any question, please feel free to contact me at any time.

4) Roof downspouts and drains should discharge well beyond the limits of all
backfill.
PERCOLATION TESTS
A profile pit was dug and three percolation tests were conducted in the
designated area downhill of the building site to evaluate the feasibility of an infiltration
septic disposal system. The log of the profile pit is shown on Fig. 1 and the percolation
test results are presented in Table II. Based on our findings, the tested site is suitable
for an infiltration septic disposal system. Due to the moderate to steep sloping terrain,
we recommend the disposal system be designed by a civil engineer.
LIMITATIONS
This report has been prepared in accordance with generally accepted
geotechnical engineering principles and practices in this area at this time. We make no
other warranty either expressed or implied. The conclusions and recommendations
submitted in this report are based upon the data obtained from the exploratory borings
and pits at the designated locations, the proposed type of construction and our
experience in the area. Evaluation of the potential geologic hazard impacts on the
development area are beyond the scope of our study. Our findings include interpolation
and extrapolation of the subsurface conditions identified at the exploratory borings and
pits and variations in the subsurface conditions may not become evident until excavation
is performed. If conditions encountered during construction appear different from those
described in this report, we should be notified so that re-evaluation of the
recommendations may be made.
This report has been prepared for the exclusive use by our client for design
purposes. We are not responsible for technical interpretations by others of our
information. As the project evolves, we should provide continued consultation and field
services during construction to review and monitor the implementation of our
recommendations, and to verify that the recommendations have been appropriately
interpreted. Significant design changes may require additional analysis or modifications

to the recommendations presented herein. We recommend on -site observation of
excavations and foundation bearing strata and testing of structural fill by a
representative of the soil engineer.

NOTES
1. The exploratory borings were drilled on June 27, 1994 with a 4-inch
diameter continuous flight power auger. The percolation holes were dug
with a backhoe on June 23, 1994.
2. The exploratory borings and pit locations were designated by the client and
were measured approximately by pacing.
3. Elevation of the exploratory borings and pits were not measured and the logs
are drawn to depth.
4. The exploratory boring locations should be considered accurate only to the
degree implied by the method used.
5. The lines between materials shown on the exploratory boring and pit logs
represent the approximate boundaries between material types and transitions
may be gradual.
6. No free water was encountered in the borings and pits at the time of drilling
and excavation. Fluctuations in water level may occur with time.
