"CONDITIONS:
1. All installation must comply with all requirements of the County Individual Sewage
Disposal System Regulations, adopted pursuant to authority granted in 25-10-104,
C.R.S. 1973, as amended.
2. This permit is valid only for connection to structures which have fully complied
with County zoning and building requirements. Connection to or use with any
dwelling or structure not approved by the building and zoning departments shall
automatically be a violation of a requirement of the permit and cause for both
legal action and revocation of the permit.
3. Section III, 3.21 requires any person who constructs, alters, or installs an
individual sewage disposal system to be licensed according to the Regulations.

Rob Fawcett with Shaeffer Construction stopped in to obtain OWTS information for a remodel project located at
5600 Eby Creek Rd. owned by Eagle County Ranch Acquisition LLC.
We located what we believe to be the OWTS record (ISDS 1260-93) and the system is reported to consist of a
1,500 gallon tank and 310 or so square feet of absorption area via 10 standard Infiltrator chambers placed in on
trench about 62 to 65 feet long. The house is reported to be three bedrooms with one of them barely meeting the
definition of a bedroom.
It appears that the remodel will not require additional tank capacity but will require an increase in soil treatment
area, based on the total number of bedrooms after the remodel - 3 or 4.
Mr. Fawcett was advised to have the tank pumped to assure it was in good shape and also advised that the
added soil treatment area necessary for the additional bedroom would likely be three times greater than exists
today based on differences in sizing criteria from 1994 to present day. He may contact a.design engineer to
design the alteration.
This is just a heads up as the applications will be forthcoming.

to be completed before you call for your final inspection. Also, please note any special
conditions which may have been placed on the permit. If all items are not completed, a
reinspection fee of $42.50 must be paid before a reinspection is made.
Please call our office well in advance to allow for scheduling of final inspection. Your building
permit TCO will not be issued until final approval has been given for the ISDS Permit.
Permit specifications are minimum requirements only, and should be brought to the property
owner's attention.
This permit does not indicate conformance with other Eagle County requirements.

Rob Fawcett with Shaeffer Construction stopped in to obtain OWTS information for a remodel project located at
5600 Eby Creek Rd. owned by Eagle County Ranch Acquisition LLC.
We located what we believe to be the OWTS record (ISDS 1260-93) and the system is reported to consist of a
1,500 gallon tank and 310 or so square feet of absorption area via 10 standard Infiltrator chambers placed in on
trench about 62 to 65 feet long. The house is reported to be three bedrooms with one of them barely meeting the
definition of a bedroom.
It appears that the remodel will not require additional tank capacity but will require an increase in soil treatment
area, based on the total number of bedrooms after the remodel - 3 or 4.
Mr. Fawcett was advised to have the tank pumped to assure it was in good shape and also advised that the
added soil treatment area necessary for the additional bedroom would likely be three times greater than exists
today based on differences in sizing criteria from 1994 to present day. He may contact a design engineer to
design the alteration.
This is just a heads up as the applications will be forthcoming.

From our communication, we understand that you are working on a project at 5600 Eby Creek
Road, Parcel # 1939-061-00-002, Eagle County, Colorado. The project consists of remodeling the
existing two-bedroom residence and adding a third bedroom. The existing residence has an existing
septic system that based on the as-built sketch and inspection documents provided by the ECEH
Department, consists of a 1500 gallons septic tank and one trench with ten infiltrators with an absorption
area of 375 square feet.
After reviewing all the data that you e-mailed us, including the latest topographical survey, we
attempted to design and add the additional leachfield for the proposed additional bedroom, however, we
decided that it is best for now to provide you with a preliminary design data.
Based on the present regulations, a three-bedroom residence with a percolation rate of 15
minutes per inch in the absorption area, will require 1000-gallons, two-compartments septic tank and 844
square feet absorption area. The existing 1500-gallons septic tank capacity is suitable. Since they already
have 375 square feet leachfield (assuming it is in good working condition), an additional 469 square feet
will be required. With today’s Quick 4 Plus standard infiltrator chambers, there will be 50% reduction in
the size of the absorption area for a total 24 additional infiltrators. Today’s infiltrators are 4 feet long.
We recommend not to disturb the leachfield area at present and wait until the snow has melted
and the ground had dried up in order to locate and uncover the ends of the leachfield. At that time, the
ends of the existing infiltrator trench will have to be uncovered, so we can verify its location and
condition, and decide where is the best location for the additional leachfield.
There is no other warranty either expressed or implied.

Dear Mr. Fawcett:
At your request, on May 22 and 28, 2014, we visited the construction site at the Old Main
House Addition, 5600 Eby Creek Road, Eagle County, Colorado. The purpose of our site visits
was to inspect the installation of the septic system.
They installed the system in overall compliance with the septic system design, Drawing
No. 14-2926SD.DWG, dated May 8, 2014, the additional recommendations based on the field
observations once the existing system was uncovered, the revised permit and as shown on the
attached as-built sketch. They kept the existing 1500-gallon, two compartment, concrete septic
tank. There was a cleanout between the septic tank and the building, and an additional cleanout
between the tank and the leachfield.
Forty three, Q-4, Standard Infiltrator Chambers were installed in three trenches. There
were fifteen (15) infiltrators in the first two trenches and thirteen (13) in the last trench. There
was a minimum of six feet separation between the trenches. In the first and last infiltrator of each
trench, inspection ports were installed. The T’s in both compartments of the septic tank were at
least 14-inches long. The old, one trench, leachfield was abandoned.
There is no other warranty either expressed or implied.
