Gypsum, CO 81637 RAYMOND P. MERRY, REHS Director RE: Issuance of Individual Sewage Disposal System (ISDS) Permit # 2520-06 Tax Parcel #: 1937-313-00-007; Property Location: Gypsum Gun Club 681 Gun Club Rd, Gypsum, CO Dear Jim, Please find enclosed ISDS permit, number 2520-06 to conduct the construction exactly as indicated on the permit and the design drawings stamped by Jerry Law on July 6, 2006. It remains valid for 120 days. The enclosed copy of the permit must be posted at the installation site. Any changes in plans or specifications must be pre -approved by this department and the design engineer. If you are receiving this permit and have not been contracted to perform the installation, please contact us immediately. Also enclosed is a final inspection completeness check list to assist you in making sure all of the detailed points of an inspection have been properly addressed before calling the engineer for your final inspection. It is important to pay close attention to the special conditions which may have been included to address site specific issues. All components of the system must be exposed for his inspection. It is extremely _important to remember to rake all infiltrative surfaces and avoid installing systems in wet or frozen ground. In addition to avoiding installations during unfavorable site conditions, please remember our annual time frame for ISDS installations, unless otherwise specifically approved by this department. Permits issued on or before November 15 must be installed prior to December 1. Spring field activities typically resume around mid March. Avoiding the winter months promotes better site evaluations, designs and installations resulting in the best private wastewater system for our customers. If unfavorable conditions prevail between the installation and the final inspection (such as snow) special precautions must be taken to protect the drain field area from the elements. Please keep this office informed regarding the progress of your installation so we can provide responsive customer service when scheduling your final inspection. The Temporary Occupancy Permit (TCO) associated with building occupancy cannot be issued without the septic system being finally inspected and approved. Systems designed by a registered professional engineer must be inspected and certified by the design engineer. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (970) 328-8755. The percolation test was performed by me thusly: --April 27, 2005, 4:20 PM completed the digging of the three test holes and filled each hole with 7 gallons of water. --April 28, 2005, 9:50 AM (cloudy, 45 degrees F) each hole received 5 gallons of water and was allowed to perc to the bottom third of the hole. --April 29, 2005, calculated the perc rates ranging from 6.0 mpi to 11.7 mpi. The average of 6 times was 8.2 mpi. The test pit was dug 7.0' deep. It consisted of 2" to 4" of silty loam on the top, with the remainder of the hole being silty to rocky soil. Design basis-- In the past, the Gun Club has used a closed system outhouse and porta- jons to accommodate their personnel. They have plans in the future to: expand the club house, add modern restrooms, develop an RV caretaker unit for security, expand the shooting facility, and surface the parking lot. Although they usually do their cooking at home and have potluck -style meals, I designed the septic for the possibility of a kitchen being added in the future. The septic capacity also includes the flow of 1) 4 RV units with two people each at 50 gpd (no laundry), 2) Special event of 100 people at 5 gpd, 3) Special meal of 100 at 2.6 gpd. Usage-- The members normally shoot every Monday night during tolerable weather. The longest shooting event they have held is two days long. They typically hold matches for only one day every two weeks: 2006 is scheduled for 6 trap -shoots, 6 cowboy -shoots. IThe over design of this septic system is deliberate to minimize maintenance and allow for future expansion. The Town of Gypsum Public Works Department will oversee the COMMUNITY records for the septic maintenance. Please call 524-7688, or email DEVELOPMENTJM@TownofGypsum.com if you have any questions about the design.
