RE: Final approval of the: Septic System Installation, OWTS-016937-2019
Property location: 977 Cottonwood Pass Rd. Parcel: 211118107001
Mr. Wilson:
This letter is to inform you that the above-referenced permit has been inspected and finalized. This
OWTS permit was approved and sized to serve a total of five (5) bedrooms.
Additional information about the maintenance your septic system needs can be accessed through
our website links, provided on the Environmental Health Department’s septic system resource page.
Be aware that changes in the use of your prope rty or alterations of your building may require
commensurate changes to, or relocation of, your septic system. Landscape features, trees with tap
roots, irrigation systems and parking areas above the soil treatment area can cause premature
system failure. It is equally important that you notice and immediately repair dripping faucets and
hissing toilets as this will certainly cause the system to fail.
If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact us at (970) 328 -8755 and
reference the OWTS septic permit number.
Best Regards,
Claire Lewandowski, REHS

Thanks, Luiza! That makes sense that there is no well, then. I know this is a replacement for a failed system, so i will
prioritize this review and get to it as soon as possible.

Hi Luiza,
The assessors record show a second residence (cabin/garage?) on the property, built in 1924, the 971 Cottonwood Pass
on the same parcel. Do you know if the second residence has plumbing and if it is connected to the existing system to be
abandoned? We don't have any permit records for that location to say whether it has a separate OWTS or not. I was
wondering if this had been determined.
Thanks

Hi Claire,
The owner is in El Salvador right now. From the documents we received from Giovanna, I couldn’t
tell if they had a permit, but I know they have plumbing and a separate system. The covers for the
septic tank at 971 Cottonwood Pass Road were located by the surveyor, and I show an
approximate , clouded area for the leachfield of that same system. The application is for 977
Cottonwood Pass Road.
Hope this helps. I was out on a jobsite all day today.
Thank you,
Luiza Petrovska, PE

Claire,
Years ago, 1950's , I remember a small abandon house on the land (probably the one built in 1924). That
house was demolished in the late 50's -early 60's if I remember correctly. Currently there are no other
buildings that are in the area other than those indicated on the plan.
There are no other buildings/residence that are connected to the system , 0977, that will be abandon
Craig
