Permitted Construction / Details:
This system is designed to completely replace the system originally permitted under #1107-91IS. Install the new
system exactly as depicted in the LKP Inc design dated, stamped and signed on December 16th, 2021 by Luiza
Petrovska, PE. Abandonment of the existing tank must be completed in conformance with ECPHA OWTS Regulation
43.9.C.
The OWTS consists of two sewer lines, a new sewer line exiting the main house and an additional exiting the
barn/shop. A Valley Precast 1,000 gallon, two-compartment concrete septic tank will be used in series with a 1,000
gallon single compartment concrete septic tank equipped with a Auto Siphon Model OSI318 by Valley Precast and
effluent filters in the outlet tees. The siphon will be set to dose 76 gallons per minute. An additional Valley Precast
1,000 gallon, two-compartment concrete septic tank will be used for the barn/shop and will be tied in to the tank
containing the siphon. The STA consists of 4 rows of 13 Infiltrator Quick4 Plus Standard chambers for a total of 52
over a 3 foot unlined sand filter. Gradation analysis must confirm sand as a secondary media.
Contact Eagle County Environmental Health and the design engineer well in advance of requesting inspections prior
to backfilling any component of the OWTS. The design engineer is responsible for conducting all inspections
necessary to certify the installation and assure the functionality of the system. System certification, along with
photos and a record drawing is required to be submitted to and approved by Eagle County Environmental Health
prior to the use of the system or occupancy of the dwelling.

Dear Dan:
At the request of the installer, Travor Dunsdon, Alpha Excavation, LLC, 970-471-6292,
alpha1excavation@gmail.com, on October 08, 2022, we visited the Piney Valley Ranch property at
10700 CO Highway 131, 10 miles N of Wolcott, Parcel Number: 1855-011-00-002-Piney Valley
Ranch, Eagle County, Colorado. The purpose of our site visits was to inspect the installation of the
septic system replacement for the existing, mobile home with 3 bedrooms, and steel building (work
shop) with one bathroom.
The system was installed in overall compliance with the septic system design, Drawing No.
21-3541OWTS.dwg, dated December 16, 2021. At the time of the inspection, we observed the
following:
At the existing mobile home, a new 1,000 gallon, two-compartment, concrete septic tank by
Valley Precast was installed, as shown on the attached as-built sketch. New building sewer line was
constructed between the existing cleanout and the new septic tank. The building sewer line consisted
of four-inch diameter SCH40 PVC pipe. The effluent line from the new septic tank was tied into the
existing effluent line at about six feet from the outlet. Additional cleanouts were constructed on the
existing effluent line at about 100-ft intervals as shown on the above-named sketch.
The new septic tank for the shop was a 1,000 gallon, two-compartment, concrete septic tank
by Valley Precast, and was constructed at about 25 feet southeast from the northeast building corner.
New building sewer line was constructed between the existing cleanout and the new septic tank. The
building sewer line consisted of four-inch diameter SCH40 PVC pipe.
1,000 gallon, one-compartment, concrete septic tank with OSI318 siphon by Valley Precast
was constructed about 50 feet southeast from the northeast building corner. The siphon tank had
white, corrugated, plastic risers with green plastic covers, secured with screws, nuts, and bolts. The
effluent line from the shop septic tank was about 16 feet long.
Both new septic tanks had the Tee’s installed, and effluent filters in the second compartments.
The risers on the mobile home septic tank were concrete risers, 24 inches at the inlet and 26.5 at the
outlet, and were equipped with metal ring and covers. The risers on the shop septic tank were
concrete risers with metal covers. The discharge pipe from the siphon to the soil treatment area was

about 224 feet long, 4-inch diameter schedule 40 PVC. Cleanout was installed at the beginning of the
discharge line with a 3/16-inch hole in the cap for the siphon, per the manufacturer’s
recommendations.
In the soil treatment area, 3 feet of the onsite clayey soils were removed and replaced with 3
feet of secondary sand. The end manifold was about 9 feet long, 1.5-inch sch40 pvc. The soil
treatment area consisted of infiltrator chambers arranged in a bed configuration with four rows of 13
infiltrators in each, for a total of 52 Quick Four Plus, Standard Infiltrator Chambers. Inspection ports
were installed on the four corners of the bed in the end caps for the infiltrator chambers.
Pressure dosing system consisting of 54-ft, 1.5-inch sch40 laterals perforated at the top with
5/32-inch holes at 3-ft intervals, suspended from the side of each row of infiltrator chambers. The
ends of the laterals were equipped with flushing assemblies. A squirt test was performed by Travor
and it was satisfactory.
The septic tank installation and priming/startup of the siphon system were done by Travor
Dunsdon of Alpha Excavation LLC. The control panel for the siphon cycle counter was installed near
the siphon tank. According to Travor, the old septic tanks were crushed and backfilled in place.
There is no other warranty either expressed or implied.
Sincerely,

RE: Soil and Site Evaluation
OWTS - REPLACEMENT
10856 CO Highway 131, 10 miles N of Wolcott
Parcel Number: 1855-011-00-002-Piney Valley Ranch
Eagle County, Colorado
Project 21-3541
Dear Den,
On August 11 and December 9, we visited Piney Valley Ranch at 10856 Highway 131, Eagle
County, Colorado. The purpose of our site visits on July 3, 2020 was to select an area for the proposed
new Soil Treatment Area for the replacement of the old leachfield. During the following site visit,
Jeremy Smith, the ranch manager, excavated number of profile holes in the selected areas.
From the information provided by Danielle Salinsky, M.S., Environmental Health Specialist I,
Eagle County Public Health and Environment, the existing septic system consisted of two, 1000-gallon
tanks and a leachfield with 28 infiltrators, and it was finalized on October 21, 1992. In above-named
documents it is also stated, that at the time of the septic system installation, the 3-bedroom mobile home
was in place, but the steel shop building had not been built yet.
We also received and inspection report (attached) from Travor Dunsdon with Altitude Septic,
dated August 6, 2021. In the report Travor recommends that both of the existing septic tanks and the
existing leachfield be replaced due to failure. The existing septic tanks are in a traffic area and do not
have the traffic rated construction.
The selected new site for the STA replacement is northeast and downhill from the existing STA.
The area is west of a dirt, ranch road and east from Goodson Creek. A survey prepared by Brent Biggs,
PLS, Peak Land Consultants, Inc., was used as a basis for the septic system design.
Directions to the site are from the Wolcott exit on I-70 Westbound on Colorado Highway 131 for
about 10.1 mi. The ranch driveway is on the east side of the road.
The proposed new Onsite Wastewater Treatment System will consist of two,1000-gallon, top
seam, two compartments, concrete septic tanks, with effluent filters in the second compartments and one
1000-gallons, top seam, one compartment, concrete septic tank with Auto Siphon Model OSI318, by
Valley Precast. The soil treatment area will consist of 52 Quick 4Plus Standard Infiltrator chambers
arranged in a bed configuration with four rows of 13 infiltrators each. The bed will have three feet of
unlined sand filter under the chambers. The system will be pressure dosed.
