The issue of your installer doing work without the OWTS permit in hand is a matter between us and the installer. The OWTS Permit will remain open until the final sewer line connection is made, presumably near completion of the project. Please keep us informed of your progress so we can plan accordingly. As we discussed on the phone, it is my understanding that the remodel will involve digging a crawl space and extending the sewer line through the foundation wall. The photos sent to us by your licensed systems contractor, Josh Wood with Yuck Truck, show a Calder coupling that appears as if it may end up in the crawl space as opposed to being buried outside the structure. All pipe connections in an on -site wastewater treatment system are to be primed and glued. Calder couplings are not allowed. The inspection to determine proper pipe bedding may be able to be performed when the sewer line is extended from the foundation wall to the cleanout where the connection to the on -site wastewater treatment system sewer line occurs. The new cleanout will need to be installed within two feet outside the foundation wall. We will also need to assure the septic tank which was moved to its new location is water tight and that the horizontal setbacks (between the new addition and tank; new addition and soil treatment area; tank and soil treatment area) are met.
