RE: Issuance of Individual Sewage Disposal System Repair Permit No. 1797-98, Tax

Enclosed is your ISDS Permit No. 1797-98. It is valid for 120 days. The enclosed copy of the
permit must be posted at the installation site. Any changes in plans or specifications invalidates
the permit unless otherwise approved.
Also enclosed is the ISDS Final Inspection Completeness Form. The items on this form need
to be completed before you call for your final inspection. Also, please note any special
conditions which may have been placed on the permit. If all items are not completed, a
reinspection fee of $42.50 must be paid before a reinspection is made.
Please call our office well in advance to allow for scheduling of final inspection. Your building
permit TCO will not be issued until final approval has been given for the ISDS Permit.
Permit specifications are minimum requirements only, and should be brought to the property
owner's attention.
This permit does not indicate conformance with other Eagle County requirements.

Dear Janet:
On June 29, 1998, High Country "Engineering, Inc' personnel performed percolation testing at the site of
the proposed Adams residence located at 1370 Spring Creek Road", south of the Eagle County Airport.
The rates for the three test holes were reasonably consistent,,and we recommend a design rate of,10
minutes per inch. The bottoms of the percolation' test holes were generally about three feet below. the
natural ground surface.
The profile hole "showed essentially no topsoil, then approximately two feet of highlyporous light tan
silt, then more compact light tan silt down to eight feet where the consistency was starting to become
more compact and the color was changing to a darker grey color indicating the beginning of the Eagle
Valley Evaporite formation:
It appears that a standard Infiltrator' 'trench system could be used for this site. However, we
recommend that the bottom of the trenches be located three to four feet below the natural grade to avoid
the highly .porous upper soil and to mitigate possible hydro -compaction complications. -

We received word from High Country Engineering of Glenwood Springs, that we have a perc rate
of 10 minutes per inch on the proposed site for an individual septic system at the above. address. The
county should receive a fax and report very shortly from High Country engineering confirming this.
The proposed dwelling shall eventually include 4 bedrooms. The proposed septic installation
shall include a 1500 gallon septic tank, and a serially distributed system of 30" wide gravel absorption
trenches. (See enclosed drawing.)
The parcel size on the dwelling side of the property is approximately 5.5 acres, so the physical
features on the adjacent side of the road were not considered relevant. Distances from physical features on
the proposed side of the property are as follows:
Dwelling to Septic Tank: 20'
Absorption Trench to Driveway 25'
Absorption Trench to Water Line 35'
Absorption Trench to Property Line 45'
The grade of the proposed site falls off at about 71/o, downwards away from the dwelling. The
approximate length of the system will be 50' long. The absorption trench system will end approximately
300'+ from Spring Creek below.
The owner ,Dale Adams, is now a licensed installer with Eagle County (License # 50-98) and
will be doing the installation.
