A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DESIGNATION OF THE FEDERAL-AID
SECONDARY HIGHWAY SYSTEM IN EAGLE COUNTY •
WHEREAS, Section 148 of the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1973 requires a re-
4111 alignment of the Federal-Aid Systems after June 30, 1976; and
WHEREAS, the Federal-Aid Highway Program Manual, Volume 4, Chapter 6, Sec-
• tion 7 (FHPM 4-6-7) sets forth policies and procedures for designation
of the Federal-Aid Systems after June 30, 1976; and
• WHEREAS, Paragraph 5c of FHPM 4-6-7 states the Federal-Aid Secondary System
shall consist of rural major collector routes; and
•
WHEREAS, rural major collector routes were designated in the 1980 Highway
Functional Classification Study recently completed in cooperation with
local officials and approved by the Federal Highway Administration; _
and
WHEREAS, Paragraph 6c(3) of FHPM .4-6-7 states the routes of the Federal-Aid
Secondary System shall be designated by each state acting through its
State Highway agency and appropriate local officials in cooperation
with each other;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of
• EAGLE. County hereby approves the designation
of the Federal-Aid Secondary System of Highways in said county, con-
sisting of the following public roads:
1) U.S. Highway .6 from Interstate Highway 70 in Gypsum
easterly via Eagle to Interstate Highway 70 at Dowd's
Junction.
• 2) State Highway 70 from U.S. Highway 6 in Eagle north-
erly to Interstate Highway 70.
3) State Highway 70 from U.S. Highway 6 east of Edwards
northerly to Interstate Highway 70.
• 4) State Highway 70 from U.S. Highway 6 in Avon northerly
to Interstate Highway 70.
5) State Highway 131 from Interstate Highway 70 northerly
to U.S. Highway 6; from U.S. Highway 6 northerly. via
State Bridge to the north county line.
