of the following Resolution:
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 052
RESOLUTION FOR THE CLOSURE OF DAGGETT LANE
WHEREAS, during paving operations in the summer of 2022, the bridge deck of the
Daggett Lane Bridge over the Gypsum Creek was damaged; and
WHEREAS,Daggett Lane and the Daggett Lane Bridge are located within unincorporated
Eagle County, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, upon review of the damage to the Daggett Lane Bridge, the Eagle County
Engineering Department and the Eagle County Road and Bridge Department determined
replacement of the Daggett Lane.Bridge was necessary; and
WHEREAS, Eagle County has contracted with Ewing Trucking and Construction LLC
("Contractor") for the replacement of the Daggett Lane Bridge due to the structure's age and
condition and recommendations from the Eagle County Engineering Department and the Eagle
County Road and Bridge Department; and
WHEREAS, Contractor will require a complete road closure of Daggett Lane to replace
the Daggett Lane Bridge for the safety and protection of work crews and road equipment; and
WHEREAS,C.R.S. §42-4-106(6)(a)provides that local authorities may temporarily close
Colorado roads or highways by resolution stating the closure is necessary for the safety and
protection of work crews and road equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT, Daggett Lane shall be closed to all traffic, including but not limited to pedestrian
traffic, bicycle traffic, and vehicular traffic. The closure is necessary for the safety and protection
of Contractor's work crews and road equipment; and
THAT,Contractor,the Eagle County Engineering Department,and the Eagle County Road
and Bridge Department shall establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of
traffic during the closure of Daggett Lane; and
THAT, the location of the closure and the detour for Daggett Lane is indicated on the
detour plan from the approved project plan and is attached as Exhibit A.The duration of the closure
is anticipated to take place from September 5, 2023 to November 3, 2023. These dates may vary
based on field conditions and project progress; and

THAT, Contractor will be required to notify emergency services and service providers in
the area prior to the closure. The contractor will coordinate with the Eagle County
Communications Department to issue a News Release prior to the closure; and
THAT, the Board of County Commissioners hereby finds, determines and declares that
this Resolution is necessary for the public health,safety,and welfare of the residents of the County
of Eagle, State of Colorado.

County of Eagle, State of Colorado, at its regular meeting held the 22nd day of August, 2023.
