HomeMy WebLinkAboutR88-074 Establishment of Fire Equipment Use RatesCommissioner 3-g57_/7 79e p( moved adoption of the following Resolution: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 88 - "/z/ ESTABLISHMENT OF FIRE EQUIPMENT USE RATES WHEREAS, Pursuant Section 30 -10 -513, CRS, as amended, the Board of County Commissioners has the authority to allow the Sheriff, deputies, fire departments called out of their districts, and such other persons as may be called to assist in the controlling and extinguishing prairie and forest fires, such compensation and other expenses necessarily incurred as the Board may deem just; and WHEREAS, Pursuant Section 30 -10 -513, CRS, as amended, the Sheriff has the authority to act as fire warden in case of prairie or forest fire in the county and, as fire warden, to assume charge of or assist other governmental authorities in controlling and extinguishing prairie or forest fires, and to call to his aid such persons as he deems necessary to control a prairie or forest fire; and WHEREAS, Pursuant Section 23 -30 -305, CRS, as amended, the Board of County Commissioners may in its discretion, cooperate with the governing bodies of organized fire districts, fire departments and municipal corporations, and private parties in the prevention and suppression of forest fires. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: THAT, any person or organization called upon by the Eagle County Sheriff to fight a forest or prairie fire who would not otherwise be obligated to fight such fire may submit an itemized bill for services to the Sheriff for consideration. Said bill shall include a description of equipment, length of use from portal to portal, allocation of time as "in use" or "stand -by" as indicated from shift records, and list of fire fighters names with the time worked on the fire. Said bill shall be sent to the Eagle County Sheriff's Office, PO Box 359, Eagle, Colorado 81631. THAT, the Board of County Commissioners shall pay, after verification and review, the following rates: Equipment Description Use Rate Stand -by Rate Class A Engine $85 -90 $29 Mini Engine 75 24 Tanker - Pumper 75 24 Rescue Engine 40 13 Brush Engine 30 9 Pickup 16 5 Personnel Rate Command (incident or agency coordinator) $13 Trained Fire Fighter 10 All rates are to be computed hourly and are portal to portal including fuels, lubricants, repairs and support equipment. Equipment rates are without operator or crew. Minimum payment is one hour, at either use rate or stand -by rate, as applicable to the circumstances. Stand -by is defined as the requested ability to operate on command by the Sheriff or "available" status if requested by the Sheriff. Off -shift or out of service is not stand -by. All shift records must be available to the County for inspection. THAT, any payment to be made pursuant to this resolution is authorized only after an appropriation of revenue for such a purpose has been made.
