Mr. Colomitz & Ms. Liken: This letter is to inform you that the above-referenced, OWTS-7-18-19475 permit, has been inspected and finalized. This OWTS permit was approved and sized to serve the 2 bedrooms home. On another matter, it is noted that there is a RV discharge sewer line that was added to the project which was not shown on the approved drawing. Inasmuch as it is not prohibited to have this, it is very important for the owner to understand that the chemicals used in RV toilets to control odor (usually formaldehyde), coupled with the strength of RV waste (higher biological oxygen demand), it may compromise the proper functionality of the OWTS over time. Therefore, the owner should be advised to limit the use of these chemicals in their RV and to use RV dumping stations whenever possible. Additional information about the maintenance your septic system needs can be accessed through our website links, provided on the Environmental Health Department’s septic system resource page. Be aware that changes in the use of your property or alterations of your building may require commensurate changes to, or relocation of, your septic system . Landscape features, trees with tap roots, irrigation systems and parking areas above the soil treatment area can cause premature system failure. It is equally important that you notice and immediately repair dripping faucets and hissing toilets as this will certainly cause the system to fail. If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact us at (970) 328-8755 and reference the OWTS septic permit number. Best Regards, Giovanna Harkay. Box 5686 Eagle, CO 81631 E-mail: codyokelly( gmail.com Dear Cody: RE: Inspection of Septic System Installation Liken- Colomitz, 2-Bedroom Residence Lot A, King and Fleming Tract Exemption 15435 US Highway 6 Eagle County, CO Project No. 18-3255— OWTS-7-18-19475 At the request of Jeff Beaumont, Beaumont Excavating, on October 8, 2018, we visited the Liken- Colomitz, property, Lot A, King and Fleming Tract Exemption, 15435 US Highway 6, Eagle County, Colorado. The purpose of our site visits was to inspect the installation of the septic system. The system was installed in overall compliance with the septic system design, Drawing No. 18- 32550WTS.dwg, dated July 23, 2018. At the time of the inspection we observed the following: They installed a 1000-gallons, two compartments, precast, concrete, septic tank by Valley Precast. A cleanout was constructed on the 4-inch diameter SDR35 sewer line, on the east side of the main residence, at about 2.5 feet east and about 11 feet north from the southeast building corner, as shown on the as -built sketch. The inlet and outlet of the tank had the T's installed. The tank access ports had 36-inch corrugated, plastic risers with green, plastic covers. The covers were secured with nuts, bolts and screws. In the outlet tee, an effluent filter was installed. We recommended that the handle of the effluent filter is extended to within a foot of the riser cover for ease of maintenance Thirty (30), Q-4 Plus, Standard Infiltrator Chambers were installed in three trenches, with ten infiltrators in the first, eleven in the second and nine in the last trench. There was a minimum of 6 feet separation between the trenches. They were connected with serial distribution. All inspection ports were installed (in the end caps of the first and last chamber of each row of infiltrators). The effluent line from the septic tank to the leachfield was about 35 feet long. An additional building sewer line was constructed for the discharge from the RV. This line was about 51 feet long, 4-inch diameter, SDR35 pvc pipe. It had a cleanout just before the connection to the main building sewer line and another one near the end of the line. A new well was observed on the west side of the property. The distance from the soil treatment area to the new well was about 130 feet. There is no other warranty either expressed or implied. ..........
