Box 179 500 Broadway Eagle, Colorado 81631-0179 The Environmental Health Division would like to notify you to make a formal request to extend your Individual Sewage Disposal System(ISDS) Permit #106-% into the 1996 construction year. The Environmental Health Division discontinued percolation tests on November 15, 1995 and.final inspections on December 2, 1995 due to climatic conditions. ISDS permits are active for 120 days after the date of issue if no Building Permit has been issued for the same property. If a Building Permit has been issued for the same property the ISDS will expire at the same time as the building permit. If you still plan to apply for a Building Permit this year or in the early months of 1996 you will need to have a percolation test conducted before your Building Permit will be released. You will have to contact a Registered Professional Engineering(RPE) firm to conduct your percolation test. If you have had your permit issued and have not had your final inspection completed, but plan on constructing the system in the next few weeks, please give our office a call and we will evaluate your permit on a case by case situation. Percolation test shall be conducted for all new construction and for all new leach fields or repair permits. 2. Colorado Registered Professional Engineers are required to conduct the .percolation tests on systems designed by-them.- 3. Can be conducted by the Environmental Health Division only on a conventional systems after adequate site preparation. 4. If the percolation test is done by Eagle County & the results show that the soil is unsuitabe for a conventional system, a Registered Professional Engineer will be required to design the system. Your percolation test fee paid to the county will. not be refunded. SOIL PROFILE: (See specifications on pg. 3) One soil profile test hole at least eight feet deep or to bedrock, must be completed to give an indication of the soil condition of the area. If a Registered Professional Engineer performs the percolation test, soil profile data must be submitted as well. SPECIAL NOTES: A) All individual sewage disposal systems permits are issued to the licensed installer indicated on the application. B) The County of Eagle, Colorado requires a permit for the installation or renovation of any ISDS. Only Systems Contractors licensed by Eagle County are authorized to perform this'work..' A list of current Systems Contractors is available upon request. C) Eagle County Board of Health declares that its general policy is to require the use of public sewer systems where and whenever feasible and to limit the installation of ISDS only to areas that are not feasible for public sewers.
