Enclosed is your ISDS Permit No. 1335 is valid for 120 days. The
enclosed copy of the permit must be posted at the installation
site. Any changes in plans or specifications invalidates the
permit unless otherwise approved. Please call our office well in
advance for the final inspection.
Systems designed by a Registered Professional Engineer must be
certified by the Engineer indicating that the system was
installed as specified. Eagle County does not perform final
inspections on engineer designed systems.
Permit specifications are minimum requirements only, and should
be brought to the property owner's attention.
This permit does not indicate conformance with other Eagle County
requirements.

On January 23, 2001, 1 was contacted by Merrill Hastings to provide an evaluation of
the septic system serving his home located at 1064 Poppy Creek Road, Eagle County
tax parcel # 1687-041-00-024, Eagle County, Colorado. This type of evaluation is
provided for under the authority of the Eagle County Building Resolution, Chapter III,
Eagle County Land Use Regulations, last amended March 13, 2000.
A review of Eagle County records indicates that the installation of the Individual
Sewage Disposal System (ISDS) was completed on June 3,1994, under ISDS Permit
#1335. The system consists of a 1000 gallon septic tank and 403 square feet of
absorption area. This system was designed to accommodate a 2 bedroom dwelling
unit.
The septic system is currently functioning properly but this does not guarantee will
continue to do so. Private wastewater systems require the attention of the homeowner
to assure the system is pumped when needed and plumbing fixtures aren't leaking.
The water supply to this residence is from a private well and it is my understanding that
Mr. Hastings has provided that information to you as private wells are the responsibility
of the homeowner and are not regulated by Eagle County.

This letter is intended to clear up confusion by pointing out several errors in my original
letter dated January 26, 2001, where I provided an evaluation of the septic system
serving the home of Merrill Hastings. In my letter I reported his address as 1064 Poppy
Creek Road. This error existed in the assessor's tax parcel data base and has been
corrected to indicate the proper address of 1250 Poppy Creek Road, Eagle County tax
parcel # 1687-041-00-024, Eagle County, Colorado.
Furthermore, our Individual Sewage Disposal System (ISDS) permit records revealed
the system was designed for a two bedroom home. We permit minimum design criteria
and have discovered that the system which was actually installed via ISDS Permit
#1335 exceeded minimum design criteria and was up -sized and constructed by the
contractor to serve a three bedroom home
.Lastly, the water supply to the aforementioned residence was reported to be from a well
source which is incorrect. Mr. Hastings water source is a decreed privately owned
spring and remains the sole responsibility of the homeowner to maintain.
