inspections on engineer designed systems.

The Environmental Health Division would like to notify you to
make a formal request to extend your Individual Sewage Disposal
System(ISDS) Permit #1330-94 into the 1995 construction year.
The Environmental Health Division discontinued percolation tests
on November 15, 1994 and final inspections on December 2, 1994
due to climatic conditions.
ISDS permits are active for 120 days after the date of issue if
no Building Permit has been issued for the same property. If a
Building Permit has been issued for the same property the ISDS
will expire at the same time as the building permit.
If you still plan to apply for a Building Permit this year or in
the early months of 1995 you will need to have a percolation test
conducted before your Building Permit will be released. You will
have to contact a Registered Professional Engineering(RPE) firm
to conduct your percolation test.
If you have had your permit issued and have not had your final
inspection completed, but plan on constructing the system in the
next few weeks, please give our office a call and we will
evaluate your permit on a case by case situation.
Please give the Environmental Health office a call at 328-8755,
if you have any questions regarding your permit extension
process.

Dear Sirs:
The Mike Crabtree residential septic system construction is complete. The work was completed
approximately as designed, some differences are as follows:
The 500 gallon dosing tank was replaced with a 3 section 1000 gallon tank using one
section as a dosing chamber and the remaining 2 sections as additional septic tank. This is an
improvement over the original design.
The length of the bed was shortened from 21' to 18'.
3. The overall height of the bed is approximately 1' lower than design. Mr. Crabtree
indicated to me that the imported medium sandy soil is 2' deep and was placed in a 1'
deep excavation. I feel this is satisfactory because my estimate of the high water table is
conservative. I relied on soil color change to estimate the high water table.
4. The side slopes of the mound are steeper than the specified 3:1.
I believe that the system as constructed will adequately treat the design effluent of 300 gal/day plus
50% peak flow. Peak flow will push the dosing rate above the design of 1.2 gal/Ft./ Day. It is very
important that this residence not be developed to produce more than the design effluent.

(Robillard and Associates) for the Maeve Subdivision just to the
west of Mike Crabtree's Lot. The data and results all look
reasonable.
Attached is a copy of the floodplain map which shows the area in
front (south) of the garage/shed for the proposed system is out of
the 100 year fl'oodplain.
