ISDS Permit No. 1150-92 issued by Eagle County for this project is enclosed, along with the Special Requirements, Field Percolation Test Results, Design Calculations, Site Plan and Permit Application associated with this permit. I have reviewed the enclosed information and have inspected the project site, and hereby accept the design of proposed system as described in ISDS Permit No. 1150-92. The original Permit had the incorrect address for the system location; I revised the Permit to indicate the correct address. The system installation contractor must contact me for an inspection prior to backfilling the system, it would be best if he gives me as much prior notice as possible to avoid potential scheduling conflicts. Job No. 4 145 92 Dear Mr. Iuckhof: As requested, Chen -Northern, Inc., observed the excavation at the subject site on November 5, 1991 to evaluate the soils exposed for foundation support. The findings of our work and recommendations for the foundation design are presented in this report. The work was done in accordance with our agreement for geotechnical engineering services to Freiderich Iuckhof, dated November 1, 1991. The proposed residence will be a two-story wood frame structure located on a southwesterly sloping hillside above Milburn Court. The lower level will be a walkout type basement partially of concrete construction with a slab -on -grade floor. The building has been designed to be supported with spread footings assuming an allowable soil bearing pressure of 1500 psf. At the time of our visit to the site, the foundation excavation had been cut in two levels from 1/2 to 8 feet below the adjacent ground surface. The materials exposed in the bottom of the excavation consisted primarily of relatively hard (calcareous) cemented "caliche" type soil. There were scene areas which were loose and disturbed due to the excavation process and loose man -placed fill, less than 1 foot deep, had been placed in the basement slab area. The results of a --r-A i.on ?nnlysis performed qn a sample of the caliche soils (minus 5-inch fraction) 6btained from the site, which had broken down as sandy gravel with cobbles, are presented on Fig. 1. No water was observed in the excavation and the exposed soils were slightly moist. Considering the conditions exposed in the excavation and the nature of the proposed construction, spread footings placed on the undisturbed natural caliche soils designed for an allowable soil bearing pressure of 1500 psf should be adequate for support of the proposed building. Footings should be a minimum width of 16 inches for continuous walls and 2 feet for columns. Areas of loose or soft material or existing fill encountered at the foundation bearing level within the excavation should be removed and the footings extended down to adequate natural bearing material. Exterior footings should be provided with adequate cover above their bearing elevations for frost protection. Continuous foundation walls should be reinforced top and bottom to span local ancmalies such as by assuming an unsupported length of at least 10 feet. Foundation walls ENARTECH Inc. Box 179 Eagle, CO 81631 RE: ISDS Permit No. 1150-92 Fredrich Luckhof Residence Dear Roger: JUL 7 1992 CO —MIEN LE TV DEVELOPMENT \\\ % AN„` This letter is to certify that the Individual Sewage Disposal System for the Fredrich Luckhof residence located at 325 Milborn Court (Lot # 16, Oak Ridge III, Aspen Mountain View Subdivision) has been constructed in accordance with the requirements of ISDS Permit No. 1150-92. The system installation contractor installed 27 Contactor chambers in trenches rather than 20 Infiltrator chambers as specified. The number of chambers required is calculated as follows: (750 ft2 leach area) x (0.6)/16.7 ft2 per chamber = 27 Contactor chambers I inspected the system installation on June 30, 1992.
