Enclosed is your ISDS Permit No. 1544-95. It is valid for 120
days. The enclosed copy of the permit must be posted at the
installation site. Any changes in plans or specifications
invalidates the permit unless otherwise approved.
Systems designed by a Registered Professional Engineer must be
certified by the Engineer indicating that the system was
installed as specified. Eagle County does not perform final
inspections on engineer designed systems. Your TCO will not be
issued until our office receives this certification.
Permit specifications are minimum requirements only, and should
be brought to the property owner's attention.
This permit does not indicate conformance with other Eagle County
requirements.

SEPTIC SYSTEM APPLICATION
INTRODUCTION
The Skiles Residence is a 4.857 acre lot, located in Section 10, T2S, R85W, 6th P.M., in the
Colorado River drainage near Burns, Eagle County, Colorado. The property is currently
served by an on -site individual sewage disposal system (ISDS). The design of this system is
largely unknown. The existing residential structure will be replaced this spring. This area is
not served by Upper Eagle Valley Consolidated Sanitation District. It is proposed that the
existing ISDS serving the Skiles Residence be rp overly_abandoned and a new system designe
and permitted.
PROPOSED USE
The Skiles Residence will consist of a two 2) bedroom residential single family dwelling.
QUANTITY OF SEWAGE
(2 Bedrooms)(2 persons/bedroom)(75 gpd)(1.5 peaking factor) = 450 gpd ---

SOILS INVESTIGATION
Excavations conducted on the site by the owner indicate that bedrock is generally, encountered...'
in the area of the proposed absorption system at a depth C' eet Soils in this area consist
of ilty sand matrix with" a high percentage of gravel to boulder -sized rock fragments.
Nei er groundwater or evidence of a seasonal high water table were encountered in
excavations in this area. Due to the presence of unsuitable soils and shallow bedrock in this
area, it is proposed that a mound system be designed.
Soils suitable for a mound system exist on -site within a few hundred feet of the proposed
absorption trenches. These soils consist of a silty loam. A percolation test was not performed
on these soils since the native soil structure will be destroyed during excavation and fill and
compaction in the area of the mound system. According to the EPA Design Manual: Onsite
Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Systems, a silty loam will have a long term acceptance
'rate of 0.45 gallons per square foot per day (gpd/sq.ft.) and a percolation rate of
Nut . approximately 50 minutes per inch (MPI). These values will be used for design purposes.
