Box 179 Eagle, CO 81631 RE: Lot 5, Peachblow ISDS Eagle County, Colorado Dear Sid: Please find enclosed a submittal for the acquisition of an individual sewage disposal system permit. The submittal information is inclusive of Permit No. 3253, a check in the amount of $150, percolation test data sheet and a 24" x 36" drawing identifying the proposed sewage dis- posal system construction. As can be interpreted from the percolation test data sheet, the percolation rates warrant the use of either a standard system or a sand filter type system (depending upon depths to bedrock and groundwater). We have disigned the bed construction as shown on the 24" x 36" drawing for a 10 min/in. percolation rate. As can be seen on the attached drawing, we are proposing two bed cross sections, depending upon on -site soils investigation at the time of construction. The percolation tests were adequate to size the field, however, we are reserving the opportunity to excavate an eight -foot deep profile hole to locate bedrock. Depending upon the depth to bedrock ( and depth to groundwater, if any, we will select the type of bed construction that is required for the site. Please review the enclosed information. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to call. Sincerely, SCHMUESER CORDON MEYER.-INC. Box 179 Eagle, CO 81631 RE: Iot 5, Peachblow ISDS Eagle County, Colorado Dear Sid: Per our phone conversation on July 14, 1989, I am submitting this letter to discuss the ISDS proposed for construction as it relates in location to the 100 year floodplain of the Frying Pan River. Based upon the mapping and observations in the field, the proposed field location is approximately 21 feet higher than the adjacent water level of the Frying Pan River. Please find enclosed a copy of the Flood Insurance mapping available for this area which was produced by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It appears that the site is adjacent to the river (from a floodplain standpoint) and lies between cross section BK and BL. As can be discerned from this mapping, it is obvious that, on the south side of the river, the floodplain does not top out of its existing banks. Therefore, it can also be discerned that the proposed septic system is not located within the 100-year floodplain of the Frying Pan River. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to call. Sincerely, SCHMUESER GORDON MEYER, INC. J e S. Simonson, P.E. JSS: ec/9134 RGEIVE® Enclosure 1989 LAUGL . Box 179 Eagle, Co. 81631 RE: Patton ISDS, Frying Pan River, Eagle County, Co. (SGM Job # 90139) Dear Ray: ECE1V ED E G'. E CC'..a ± Y CONIINIUNI Y DEVELOPMENT Please let this letter serve as a report discussing the observations and conclusions made on the excavation of the Patton ISDS located on the Frying Pan River in Eagle County, Colorado. On July 6, 1990 I met with Curtis Cleveland and his contractor for the Patton sewer system at the site to evaluate the on -site field conditions as they relate to the construction of the sewage disposal system. Based upon the observations made in the field it appears the system as designed can have eliminated the use of the dosing system proposed. In essence, it appears that there is enough gravity flow or enough slope to allow a gravity flow system from the septic tank to the leach field. Based upon the field observations made the following bed cross section will be used: 1. There was observed 30 to 36 inches of native soil over- lying bedrock. 2. The sand fill of 12 to 18 inches will be required to be placed over this native soil. 3. 12 inches of gravel will be required with 6 inches between the bottom of gravel and the bottom of the 4 inch distribution piping in the field. In addition to the bed cross section, it appears that the field will better fit the site (with set back restraints and bedrock restraints) by revising the bed dimensions to be 12' x 50' (without water savings) or 12' x 37.5' (with water savings). At this point in time it appears that the contractor will be going with the option of not using water savings therefore going to put in a 12'x 50' bed. In that letter, revisions to our previously submitted plan for this project were revised. Essentially the revisions were made to consider depth to bedrock concerns and operation of the leach field by means of gravity flow verses a mechanically dosed system.
