All .installation must comply with all requirements of the County Individual Sewage Disposal Regulations, adopted pursuant to authority granted in 25-10-104, CRS 1973 amended 25-1-614, CRS 1973 2. Edeen Environmental Health (For exist' septic systems - not new construction): 1) Turn on water at several outlets: sink, lavatory; flush toilet a couple of times. 2) Check for sewage leaks in the basement, crawl space & behind cabinets and under sink. 3) Check exterior of premises for surfacing water or sewage. 4) Note any abnormal wet ground or wet ground in area of excessive weed or plant growth. 5) After water has run several minutes, take a water sample in special bottles. Please fill out complete information requested. 6) If private well, inspect casing or well lining if a dug well. 7) Well should have a water tight cap that is vented and screened. 8) Surface of well should be graded to drain away from well head. 9) Note pressure at taps, with one and additional outlets running. 10) If well is located in basement or well house, if possible, check conditions of jet pump, pressure tanks, wiring, and controls. 11) If possible, note distance between septic tank, leach field, and the water supply well. 12) If available, get depth of well, diameter, no. of feet well is cased, and casing material. 13) Take water sample according to the State proscribed procedures (stated on the back of the sampling sheet). 14) Check size of septic tank and leach field with approved septic permit. 15) Give all information to secretary to be typed up with the mortgage letter. FOR WATER SAMPLES, TAKE ONLY ON MONDAY, TUESDAY, OR AT THE VERY LATEST, WEDNESDAY. SAMPLES TAKEN ON WEDNESDAY ARE TO BE MAILED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
