HomeMy WebLinkAboutR96-107 approving 1996 fiscal year budget for DACommissioner '~ ~f'~1~ moved adoption of the following Resolution: BOARD OF COUNTY CONIl~iISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 96-_~~~ RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 1996 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET FOR THE OFFICE OF TB.E DISTRICT ATTORNEY, FIFTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT, STATE OF COLORADO Whereas, §29-1-110, C.R.S. requires the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, (hereinafter referred to as the "Board"), to adopt a budget setting forth the expenditures of the various county offices, departments, boards, commissioners and other spending agencies for fiscal year 1996, beginning January 1, 1996, and ending December 31, 1996; and WHEREAS, a public meeting on the proposed 1996 budget for the County of Eagle was held on November 13, 1995; and WHEREAS, the Board had made provisions within the 1996 budget for the Office of the District Attorney, Fifth Judicial District, State of Colorado, of which Eagle County is a part, in the amount of $964,138.00, exclusive of additional revenue the District Attorney may collect, representing a 20.0 percent increase from the approved 1995 budget of $803,308.00; and WHEREAS, this final budget figure of $964,138.00 was derived at by applying a credit for 1995 Unspent Revenue to the gross rj adjusted County obligation amount of $881,612.00 and then adding $92,026.00 for the new staff salary requirements; and WHEREAS, pursuant to§20-1-302, C.R.S., the District Attorney is entitled to collect and receive the necessary expenses of maintaining an office for the transactions of his official business, in part from Eagle County; and WHEREAS, all legal requirements have been fully complied with and performed in the premises. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY CONIl~IISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO: THAT, based on the statutorily required proration, the Board hereby approves the budgeted amount of $964,138.00 for the Office of the District Attorney, Fifth Judicial District, State of Colorado, of which Eagle County is a part, for the 1996 fiscal year. THAT, the share of said budget to be paid by Eagle County shall be as follows: 1. General Staff/Operating Budget (47%) 414,358.00 2. Additional Full-time Deputy District Attorney and Secretary/Receptionist position approved by Eagle County (100°x) 57,973.00 2. 1995 Unspent Revenue Credit (47%) (4,465.00) TOTAL EAGLE COUNTY OBLIGATION: $467,866.00 r ,t THAT, Jim Hartmann, the Eagle County Budget Officer, is hereby requested and directed to immediately transmit a copy of this Resolution to the officer of employee of the County of Eagle whose duty it is to draw warrants or orders for the payment of money, said warranty shall be issued in four (4) equal payments at the beginning of each calendar quarter. THAT, the Board hereby finds, determines and declares that this Resolution is necessary for the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado.
