Dear Ms. Savalox:
This letter, and the attached drawings will serve as notification that the ISDS at the above
named location has been installed to my satisfaction, in conformance with the approved design,
and in compliance with Eagle County regulations. I inspected the system September 4, 1999.
The absorption area is 558 square feet, consisting of 36 gravel -less infiltrators in four
trenches, arranged such that the two trenches at a higher elevation will become saturated before
substantial amounts of effluent will flow to the lower two trenches. This gives the same effect as
the permitted serial distribution. Trenches, in spite of some variations forced by sub -grade
conditions such as large boulders, were separated by the required 6 feet of undisturbed soil. The
1250 gallon 2-chamber concrete tank is located such that the center of the access cover of the
first chamber is 39.5 feet from the NW corner of the house, and 14.6 feet from the SW corner of
the house. All distances and directions relating house and ISDS may be taken from the attached
scale drawings.
Sincerely,
F. P. Fitzge al

36 infiltrators in 4 trenches of 9 units each. Units are 3 ft by 6 ft. Trenches must be dug parallel to the contours of
the slope. There must be a minimum of 6 ft of undisturbed earth between trenches. Trenches must be cut with a
level bottom, minimum 2.5 ft below local grade (low side of trench). Remove cobbles and boulders from the
bottoms: moderately compact and re -level the trench bottoms. Trenches will be connected in series. Infiltrator
units must be firmly bedded in fine native soil, strictly per the manufacturer's requirements, prior to machine
placement of the backffll.
Distribute flow to the full length of each trench by hanging a SOLID 3" SDR-35 pipe at the crown of the
infiltrators. Prior to installation, drill this pipe with ONE PAIR of/z" holes at the "4 and 8 o'clock" positions,
near the middle of each infiltrator unit. Connect these pipes in series, as shown in the drawing. Place inspection
ports in each row, as shown in the drawing.
All piping MUST be firmly bedded in fine native soil before backfilling.

Dew- Mr. Ford:
As requested, we have conducted percolation testing kit the subJect site to evaluate the
fbasibility of an 'Infiltration septic disposal system at the she. The results of ouF work
ark PaesengoW in d4i6- se C rt. `ale wok Was done in accordance With oug. agreenlant for
pFof° ssional services to ycyd dated May 17, 1999.
A profile pit and three shallow backhae pits were excavated at the locations. shown on
Fig. I by others prior to our testing, We understand that the peFcalation test, holes were
hand dug at the bottom of the shallow backhoe pits and soakod oml day prior to mir
testing. The soils exposed in the percolation holes and profile pit consist of about I foot
of top. ofl overlying silty sand and gravel with cobble,,; and hcnzldrs to the proffle pit
depth of 8 feet, No free water was encountered in the nits and the subsoils were
slightly moist to nioi.q.
Percolation tests were perfonned on May 24, 1999 by a representative. of Hepworth -
Pawlak Geotechnical, Rne. The percolation test results are, shown on Table I. The
percolation test results indicate and infiltration rate bemeen 30 and 40 gninums per inch
with an average of 33 Yninutes per inch. Based an the subsurface conditions
encountered and percolation test results, the tested area should be suitable for a
