Permitted Construction / Details:
Installation of the OWTS as described on the ALL SERVICE septic, LLC design in the report stamped,
signed and dated August 26. 2014. The OWTS is designed to serve a two bedroom caretaker unit and a
bathroom located in a barn. Absolutely no other wastewater from mechanical rooms, water softeners or
horse wash areas is allowed to enter the OWTS.
The OWTS consists of a 1,000 gallon two compartment concrete septic tank with an effluent filter on the
outlet tee and 583 square feet of soil treatment area credit via the installation of 32 Infiltrator Quick 4
chambers in 4 shallow trenches with 9 chambers in each trench. The effluent will be distributed to the
four trenches by a distribution box which will require periodic maintenance to assure equal flow is
getting to each trench. The distribution box must contain flow equalization as required in Regulation 43
and the inlet must be one inch higher than the outlet pipes.
The design engineer has been in consultation with the Licensed Systems Contractor regarding the
objective of compacting the blocky caliche soils, if encountered, to assure a smooth and effective
infiltrative surface.
Contact the design engineer to conduct inspections and to certify it's proper installation. Certification of
proper installation along with as-built drawings are required prior to using the system or occupying the

RE:Final approval of septic permit OWTS-9-14-11470;Tax parcel #239127401012;
Property location: 1844 Upper Cattle Creek Rd., El Jebel area
Holly:
This letter is to inform you that the above-referenced septic permit has been inspected and
finalized. This permit was approved and sized for a 2 bedroom dwelling.Additional information
about the maintenance your septic system needs as well as information about private wells can be
accessed through web site links provided on the Environmental Health Department’s home page
at http://www.eaglecounty.us/envHealth/
Be aware that changes in the use of your property or alterations of your building may
require commensurate changes to,or relocation of,your septic system.Landscape features,
trees with tap roots, irrigation systems and parking areas above the drain field can cause
premature system failure. It is equally important that you notice and immediately repair
dripping faucets and hissing toilets as this will certainly cause the system to fail.By
following a few simple guidelines, like avoiding grease or other additives down the drain and
making sure your septic tank is on a pumping schedule, your system has been designed to
last for many years.
If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact us at (970)328-8755 and
reference the OWTS septic permit number.
Sincerely,
Terri Vroman

Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations
Rumble Ridge CDU/Barn
1844 Upper Cattle Creek Road
Eagle County, Colorado
Private Wastewater System Permit No. OWTS 9-14-11470
Holly,
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS)
on November 21 and December 4, 2014 for the subject property. Dirt Devil Excavation installed the
system.
The installation included a new 1000-gallon, two-compartment concrete septic tank with an effluent filter
on the outlet tee. This filter must be cleaned annually, or as needed. Horse traffic is not anticipated
over the septic tank; however, cast iron extension rings and covers were installed and are accessible
from grade.
Effluent gravity flows from the septic tank to a distribution box with flow regulators, accessible from grade,
and then to four rows of 9 ‘Quick 4’ Infiltrator® chambers for a total of 36 ‘Quick 4’ Infiltrator® chambers
and 432 square feet of infiltrative area. Trenches installed in the lighter colored consolidated horizon
(caliche soils) were over-excavated 2-feet below the infiltrative area, replaced, and re-compacted in 1-
foot lifts below the chambers. More than 6-feet of undisturbed soil were present between trenches.
The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of
workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are
made to the OW TS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county
regulations.
LIMITS:
Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must
have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in
which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil
type, and weather conditions.
Please call with questions.
Sincerely,

Subsurface Investigation and Onsite Wastewater Treatment System Design
Barn / Caretaker Dwelling Unit
1844 Upper Cattle Creek Road
Eagle County, Colorado
Holly,
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC performed a subsurface investigation and completed an onsite wastewater
treatment system (OWTS) design to serve a Barn and Caretaker Dwelling Unit (CDU) on the subject
residence. The property is located outside of Basalt, in an area where OWTSs and wells are necessary.
SITE CONDITIONS
The area of the property where the above mentioned development is proposed consists of an
undeveloped, open field area. There is an existing waterline that serves sprinkler systems on the
property, which will be removed. The proposed CDU will have 2 bedrooms. The proposed barn will have
a toilet, sink and shower for the resident of the CDU. The barn will also have a toilet and sink for non-
residents of the property. Native grasses exist in the area of the proposed soil treatment area (STA).
The potable water source for the CDU and barn will be greater than 100-feet from the proposed STA.
SUBSURFACE
The subsurface was investigated on August 3, 2014 by digging one 7-foot and one 8-foot soil profile test pit
excavations (Test Pits#1 and #2, respectively). A soil sample was taken from Test Pit #1, approximately 3-
feet below grade. A gradation and hydrometer analysis was run by HP Geotech and results are detailed in a
report dated August 11, 2014, Job No 114 021P.
The materials encountered in Test Pit #1 consisted of moist, dark brown, loamy topsoil to 2-feet, underlain
by light brown to white gravelly sandy loam with strong structure, blocky shape, firm to extremel y firm
consistence to 3.5-feet, underlain by light reddish brown silty sand with large basalt boulders to a
maximum depth explored of 7.0-feet. No bedrock or groundwater was encountered.
The materials encountered in Test Pit #2 consisted of moist, dark brown to reddish brown loam. No
bedrock or groundwater was encountered.
The gradation and hydrometer analysis from Test Pit #1 performed by HP Geotech shows the soil
consists of 30% gravel, 40% sand, 24% silt and 6% clay. The USDA soil type is classified as Gravelly
Sandy Loam. A long term acceptance rate (LTAR) of 0.6 gallons per square foot, will be used to
design the OWTS, in accordance with Table 10-1 Soil Type 1 presented in the Eagle County On-
Site Wastewater Treatment System Regulations, adopted May 13, 2014.

Test Pits observed August 3, 2014

Test Pit #2
DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS
The OWTS design is based on 2-bedrooms in the CDU and 50 gallons of additional flow for fixtures in the
Barn. A wastewater flow of 350 gallons/day will be used to design the system (design details are
included in W4.0).
The system installation will include a new 1000-gallon, two-compartment concrete septic tank with an
effluent filter on the outlet tee. Horse traffic is not anticipated over the septic tank; however, we
recommend cast iron extension rings and covers, accessible from grade. We also recommend Schedule
Page 3
40 sewer pipe covered with blue board insulation from the house to the septic tank and from the septic
tank to the distribution box to protect the lines in the case of occasional horse traffic.
Effluent will gravity flow from the septic tank to a distribution box, accessible from grade, and then to four
rows of 9 ‘Quick 4’ Infiltrator® chambers for a total of 32 ‘Quick 4’ Infiltrator® chambers and 432 square
feet of infiltrative area. If the infiltrative area is in the lighter colored consolidated horizon, this material
must be over-excavated 2-feet below the infiltrative area, replaced, and re-compacted in 1-foot lifts below
the chambers. Trenches should be as shallow as possible, but under the topsoil horizon.
The component manufacturers are typical of applications used by contractors and engineers in this area.
Alternatives may be considered or recommended by contacting our office. Construction must be
according to Eagle County On-Site Wastewater Treatment System Regulations, the OWTS Permit provided
by Eagle County Environmental Health Department, and this design.
REVEGETATION REQUIREMENTS
An adequate layer of good quality topsoil capable of supporting revegetation shall be placed over the entire
disturbed are of the OWTS installation. A mixture of native grass seed that has good soil stabilizing
characteristics (but without taproots), provides a maximum transpiration rate, and competes well with
successional species. No trees or shrubs, or any vegetation requiring regular irritation shall be plated over
the area. Until vegetation is reestablished, erosion and sediment control measures shall be implemented
and maintained on site. The owner of the OWTS shall be responsible for maintaining proper vegetation
cover.
OPERATION INFORMATION AND MAINTENANCE
The property owner shall be responsible for the operation and maintenance of each OWTS servicing the
property. The property owner is responsible for maintaining service contracts for manufactured units,
alternating absorption systems, and any other components needing maintenance.
Geo-fabrics or plastics should not be used over the absorption area. No heavy equipment, machinery, or
materials should be placed on backfilled absorption area. Livestock should not graze on the absorption area.
Plumbing fixtures should be checked to ensure that no additional water is being discharged to OWTS. For
example, a running toilet or leaky faucet can discharge hundreds of gallons of water a day and harm a STA.
The homeowner should pump the septic tank every two years, or as needed gauged by measurement of
solids in the tank. Garbage disposal use should be minimized, and non-biodegradable materials should not
be placed into the OWTS. Grease should not be placed in household drains. Loading from a water softener
should not be discharged into the OWTS. No hazardous wastes should be directed into the OWTS.
Mechanical room drains should not discharge into the OWTS. The OWTS is engineered for domestic waste
only.
ADDITIONAL CONSTRUCTION NOTES
If design includes a pump, air release valves and weep holes must be installed to allow pump lines to
drain to minimize risk of freezing. Excavation equipment must not drive in excavation of the STA due to
the potential to compact soil. Extensions should be placed on all septic tank components to allow access
to them from existing grade. Backfill over the STA must be uniform and granular with no material greater
than minus 3-inch.
Page 4
INSTALLATION OBSERVATIONS
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC must view the OWTS during construction. The OWTS observation should be
performed before backfill, after placement of OWTS components. Septic tanks, distribution devices,
pumps, dosing siphons, and other plumbing, as applicable, must also be observed. ALL SERVICE septic,
LLC should be notified 48 hours in advance to observe the installation.
LIMITS:
The design is based on information submitted. If soil conditions encountered are different from conditions
described in report, ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified. All OWTS construction must be
according to the county regulations. Requirements not specified in this report must follow applicable
county regulations. The contractor should have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the
requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working. Licensing of Systems Contractors
may be required by county regulation.
