RESOLUTION NO. 95- Z

WHEREAS, alcohol and other drug abuse has been identified as
one of the greatest threats to the future of our Nation; and
WHEREAS it is imperative that visible unified prevention
education efforts by community members be launched to reduce the
demand for drugs; and
WHEREAS, the Colorado Federation of Parents for Drug Free
Youth and Eagle County are sponsoring the National Red Ribbon
Campaign offering citizens the opportunity to demonstrate their
commitment to drug -free lifestyles; and
WIMREAS, the National Red Ribbon Campaign will be celebrated
in every community in America during "Red Ribbon Week ", October 22
- October 28, 1995; and
WHEREAS, business, government, law enforcement, schools,
religious institutions, service organizations, youth, physicians,
senior citizens, military, sports teams, and individuals will
demonstrate their commitment to drug -free, healthy lifestyles by
wearing and displaying red ribbons during this week -long campaign;
and
WHEREAS the County of Eagle, State of Colorado further
commits its resources to ensure the success of the Red Ribbon
Campaign.

THAT, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of
Eagle, State of Colorado, do hereby support October 22 - October
28, 1995 as Red Ribbon Week, and encourages its citizens to
participate in drug prevention education activities, making a
visible statement that we are, strongly committed to a drug -free
community; and
THAT, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of
Eagle, State of Colorado, encourages all citizens to pledge:
Healthy Means Drug Free.
MOVED, READ AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners
of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado, at its regular meeting
held the day of OS 1995.
