Mr. Brock: This letter is to inform you that the above-referenced, OWTS-6-14-10866 permit, has been inspected and finalized. This OWTS permit was approved and sized to serve a 3 bedrooms modular home, plus a bathroom in the new barn. Additional information about the maintenance your septic system needs can be accessed through our website links, provided on the Environmental Health Department’s septic system resource page. Be aware that changes in the use of your property or alterations of your building may require commensurate changes to, or relocation of, your septic system . Landscape features, trees with tap roots, irrigation systems and parking areas above the soil treatment area can cause premature system failure. It is equally important that you notice and immediately repair dripping faucets and hissing toilets as this will certainly cause the system to fail. If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact us at (970) 328-8755 and reference the OWTS septic permit number. Best Regards, Giovanna Harkay. I've not yet reviewed the amendments you made and sent earlier today but thought you'd be able to address these comments on the original submittal and resubmit once when everything has been addressed. We're plowing through quite a few various things in EH right now so please allow at least a few days for the permit. Is there a building permit associated with this job? Yes, BP for plumbing, mechanical (fan) and electrical. No general permit required per Bob Narracci. No bearing walls or other inspections apply to my understanding. 1. Please mention that even though the existing system pre -dates our permitting process, you have an idea of the location of the existing system as to know we're not installing a new soil treatment area in conflict with the existing one. This is a good place to also mention proper closure of the old tank in accordance with 4.17.07 ECLUR. I investigated and made note that the existing system may have been a pit and does not impact the proposed system. 2. Please don't reference Reg. 43 at all since wee need to operate under the existing Chapter IV ECLUR until June 27. This applies to the "reference" section as well as page 7 and 8 of the report which can be removed. If you'd like to include the flow table, please use the one in Chapter IV ECLUR as opposed to the one in the old hftps:Hmail.google.cortVmail/ca/?ui=2&ik=1141485fcl&view=pt&as from—brockconsulting%40centurytel.net&as sizeoperator=s_sl&as sizeunit=s_smb&as_sub... 1/4 6/13/2014 Eagle County Gmernment Mail -RE: Brock septic for 15290 highway state guidelines. I think it is OK to state that your 1.2 gal/sq.ft./day LTAR recommendation is based on state and EPA reference documents. Edited as requested. 3. You could strike the comment that the 1,500 gallon tank has two 750 gallon compartments since the tank specs are attached. As noted. 4. As far as driveway crossings with wastewater conveyance lines, we typically see a water tight 6"encasement in addition to the insulation you specified. This isn't a regulatory requirement but I think it adds to the protection of the sewer line's integrity. Great comments. I know that there are a lot of mini driveways that are to be abandoned due to cost and maintenance. Regardless, made not to sleeve crossings and insulate at roads. 5.You can strike note 4 as we don't want the entire soil treatment area to be stripped of the topsoil and vegetation. Got it. 6. As far as the flows go, it's OK if you want to incorporate the individual fixture count from the barn but I thought you might want to consider another option which would be to design for additional bedrooms instead. Both a four and five bedroom design are less than the flow from a three bedroom house plus the individual fixture count. This way a future 4 or 5 BR residence could be built on the property using this system. I investigated and studied the soon to be adopted Reg 43. 1 am okay at keeping the conservancy as a total gpd as designed. If use is changed, lets re address it at that time. That's it. The pictures of the profile and aerial didn't come across very well but maybe will look better if sent separately from the camera as opposed to having the photos scanned within the report. Pictures sent as a separate file. I wish I had a better profile picture. Regardless, I am 100% confident there is no bedrock or groundwater in the substrata down to the depth of the well at 150 ft and at the profile hole location shown on the site plan.
