Permitted Construction / Details:
This system is to serve a maximum of a 2 bedroom single family home.
Installation is granted for a two compartment, 750 gallon tank, (a 1000 gallon tank, two compartment tank
is also alright) with a cleanout between the dwelling and the tank. If the sewage effluent line is to be
under any areas that may be driven over, the pipe must be of schedule 40 or stronger walled pipe unless
the pipe is sleeved with schedule 40 or stronger walled pipe. Blue board could aid in freezing protection
for areas driven over. The irrigation ditch crossing requires that the effluent pipe be encased with a
length of pipe a minimum of 10 feet on each side of the crossing. The pipe used for the encasement of
the effluent pipe shall be a minimum of schedule 40 rated and of sufficient diameter to easily slide over
the effluent line.
The leach field shall consist of a minimum of 32 Quick 4 Infiltrator units, placed in serial distribution and
trench configuration, with a cleanout in each trench, to provide 640 square feet of absorption area credit.
The maximum trench depth must be no more than 2 feet due to moist soil at a depth of 6 feet in the soil
profile hole.
Maintain all required setbacks.
Do not install in wet or frozen soil conditions.
Call Eagle County Environmental Health for a final inspection prior to covering any components of the
system.

Job No. 112 227A
Subject: Observation of Profile Pit for Long Term Acceptance Rate, Proposed Mehl
Residence, Lot 3, Lazy R Ranch, 604 Bruce Creek Road, Eagle County,
Colorado
Dear Ron:
As requested, Hepworth - Pawlak Geotechnical observed a profile pit located at the
proposed absorption field area at the subject site on July 18, 2012. The purpose of our
visit was to log the subsoil conditions in the pit and provide our recommendations for the
long term acceptance rate (LTAR) of the soils for design of the absorption field. This
report summarizes our findings and recommendations. The services were supplemental
to our agreement for professional services to you Hawkins Construction, dated July 3,
2012.
The profile pit was previously excavated. The soils exposed in the pit, below about 1 foot
of organic topsoil, consisted of generally loose, silty clayey sand underlain at a depth of
about 6 feet by medium stiff, sandy clay and silt that extended down to the pit depth of 8
feet. Results of a gradation/hydrometer analyses performed on a disturbed bulk sample of
the sand soils obtained for the pit at a depth of 3 to 4 feet are provided on Figure 1. No
free water was observed in the pit and the soils were slightly moist to moist below about 6
feet depth.
The sand soils in the in the profile pit are "Loam" per the USDA soil classification
system A conventional infiltration system for treatment and disposal of the effluent at
the site appears feasible based on the subsoil conditions and our experience in the area.
An LTAR of 0.72 gallons per square foot per day can be used to size the field.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please call our office.
Sincerely,
q®E1B019:;P,
