Home My WebLink AboutR21-059 Appointments to the Eagle County Regional Trasportation Authority DocuSign Envelope ID:79 741 942-1 2 2 5-4C29-A49C-3DFE333EE491 Commissioner Chandler-Henry moved adoption of the following Resolution: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION NO.2021 - 059 RESOLUTION CONCERNING APPOINTMENTS TO THE EAGLE COUNTY REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY WHEREAS,Resolution No. 96-22 created the Eagle County Regional Transportation Authority("ECO")and provided for its duties and powers; and WHEREAS,Resolution No. 96-22 appointed the various members to the ECO Board; and WHEREAS,Resolution No. 2016-027 adopted the ECO bylaws which provide that • vacancies on the Board be filled by Entity nomination,with approval by the Eagle County Board of County Commissioners (the"Board"); and WHEREAS,Amy Phillips, Town of Avon regular member,who was appointed by Resolution 18-022, and whose term expires February 28, 2021 desires reappointment to the ECO Board as a regular member for a term expiring on February 28, 2024; and WHEREAS,the Town of Avon requests that the Commissioners appoint Sarah Smith-Hymes as an alternate member for the term expiring February 28, 2024; and ECO Board; and WHEREAS,Jen Brown,Beaver Creek Resort Company's regular member,who was appointed by Resolution 18-022, and whose term expires February 28, 2021 desires reappointment to the ECO Board as a regular member for a term expiring on February 28, 2024; and WHEREAS,the Town of Minturn has nominated Tom Sullivan as the regular member for the Town of Minturn. A copy of said nomination letter is attached hereto as Exhibit A; and • WHEREAS, George Brodin,the Town of Minturn alternative member,who was appointed by Resolution 18-080, and whose term expires February 28, 2021 desires reappointment to the ECO Board as an alternative member for term expiring February 28,2024. THAT,Jen Brown be and is hereby appointed to the Authority Board as the regular member for the Beaver Creek Resort Company. Said term to expire on February 28,2024. THAT,the Commissioners may in the future desire to appoint a member at large to serve as the ninth member of the Authority Board,which appointment shall be made by Resolution of the Commissioners. THAT,appointees to the Authority Board serve as volunteers only. Recommendations of the Authority Board are advisory and any such recommendation shall be presented to the Board of County Commissioners by staff on a schedule to be determined by the Board of County Commissioners. INTRODUCTION: Currently the members are John Widerman as Member and George Brodin a Alternate. These terms have expired and ECTRA is asking for the appointment. This can be the same current members if so desired by the Council. This Board advises the County Commissioners on budget, operations, schedules, capital spending, and other items of the County bus system. ANALYSIS: This board meets quarterly in Gypsum. The appointed representation can be two Council members or one Council and one staff. COMMUNITY INPUT: N/A BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: N/A STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT: In accordance with Strategy #1 to practice fair, transparent, and communicative local government.
