RESOLUTION
WEEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of
Eagle County, State of Colorado, believing it to be for the
best interests of the County of Eagle and the State of
Colorado to dispose of the property commonly known as The
County Farm and all improvements situate thereon located in
Gypsum, County of Eagle and State of Colorado, and;
L`IffiSREAS, the County Commissioners had a notice
placed in The Holy Cross Trail and The Earle Valley Enterprise,
the only two newspapers published and circulating in the
County of Earle and State of Colorado, requesting purchasers
to submit bids, such bids to be opened at the regular meet-
_ ho nnnnty Commissioners on the first Monday in
WHEREAS, some several weeks prior to the date set
for the reception of bids, the County Commissioners appointed
two appraisers to appraise the property known as The County
Farm or The County Poor Farm located in and adjoining the
Town of Gypsum in Eagle County, Colorado; the appraisers so
appointed being Ray E. Chatfield and T. D. Allen, and;
Z AREAS, the appraisers so appointed, to -wait: Ray E.
Chatfield and T. D. Allen, did appraise the property know as
The County Farm or The County Poor Farm; their appraisement
being, and their setting the value to be, for the said prem-
ises the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ( ",)5000.00), and;
S1HIEREAS, there was only one bid submitted for the
purchase of The County Farm; such bid being the bid of one
Georve A. :Strohm in which he offered and submitted a bid in
the sum of Five Thousand Dollars (;5000.00) payable One Thou-
sand. Dollars (QlOOO.00) on September 1, 1939; One Thousand
Dollars (.;1000.00) on Tanuary 1, 1940 and.One Thousand Dollars
(.x1000.00) on the first of each year thereafter until the

balance of the purchase price should be paid in full. The
unpaid balances on the purchase price to bear interest at the
rate of six (6) per cent per annum., until paid. The Purchaser
reservingr the rigl.t to pay any or all of the remaining money
on the purchase price at any time.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED That the County Engineer
be instructed to make a map of The County Farm or so- called
County Poor Farm and a proper description oi' sl.me, r =serving
from such description all lots or parcels of land heretofore
sold by the County of -Eagle; that the County Attorney prepare
a. ,roper AS,reement of Sale and Purchase by and between the
County of Eagle as grantor and George A. Strohm as grantee
for the sale and purchase of the so- called County Farm for
t_ae principal sum of Five Thousand Dollars (65000.00); One
'housand Dollars ( °1000.00) to be paid on.)eptember 1, 1939,
One Thousand Dollars 01000.00) on January 2, 1940, and One
Thousand Dollars (,Ip1000.00) on the 2nd day of January, 1941,
1942, and 1943, =rovidim for interest at the rate of six (6)
per cent per annum on all unpaid balances from ':;eptember 1,
1939, grantinn the Urantee the privilege of paylnr, any or
all payments remaininr due at any time end providing fur the
delivery of a proper deed of conveyance in the nature of a
4uit -Cla2 m Deed or Special Warranty Deed :%hen all payments
are made in full, and containing a proper reservation of
parcels of land heretofore sold and proper reservations of
rights -of -way or easements and. '_eases, and to deliver to the
Purchaser a 'blue print of the map of the Farm and an abstract
of title properly certified to.
Read, considered, passed and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Board of County Commissioners held at Eagle,
