HomeMy WebLinkAboutR1917-001 State Tax Commission valuation of the Colorado Midland Railway Company 1
The following Resolution was panned by unanimous vote:-
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle
County, Colorado, that this Board register its earnest protest against
the action of the State Tax Commission in reducing the valuation of the
Colorado Midland Railway Company for taxing purposes from $313990. to
the sum of $96,490.
That this action restlts in injustice and wrong to Eagle
County, and other counties through which said Railway passes, in that
it necessitated laying a heavy burden on other property owners of the
County in order to make up the deficiency caused by such reduction.
That the said sum of $96,490, does not represent a reasonable
value of said Railway in this County.
We ask that the said action of the said Tax Commission be
rescinded or materially modified so that the said Company may pay its
reasonable share of taxes collected in this County.
Be It Further Resolved, that a oopy of this resolution be
seat to the said Tax Commission, and a dopy seat to the Board of
County Commissioners of each of the Counties through which Railway
passes.
