Resolution:
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO.20 20-022
RESOLUTION RESTRICTING PUBLIC ACCESS TO EAGLE COUNTY
BUILDINGS UNTIL APRIL 8,2020
WHEREAS, on March 6, 2020, Eagle County declared a Local Disaster Emergency
related to COVID-19 which will continue until at least April 8, 2020. On March 10, 2020,
the Governor of Colorado declared a state of Emer'ency related to the presence of
COVID-19 in the State. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has
confirmed that COVID-19 continues to spread throughout the State of Colorado, and
community transmission of the illness has been confirmed in Eagle County; and
WHEREAS, a large surge in the number of persons with serious COVID-19
infections can compromise the ability of the Eagle County Government to provide essential
governmental services to the public; and
WHEREAS, on March 14, 2020,the Director of Eagle County Public Health and
Environment issued an order directing the Board of County Commissioners to restrict
public access to buildings to ensure that the County can still provide to the public
essential public services: and
WHEREAS, the Board accordingly desires to set policies that appropriately
restrict public access to county-owned buildings.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of
Eagle County, Colorado:
THAT, all Eagle County buildings, excepting Eagle County courthouses,
the Eagle County Sheriff's Office, and any Sheriff's substatations are closed to the
public.
THAT,all elected officials occupying Eagle County buildings and all
department heads in Eagle County should take the actions necessary to provide
essential public services to the public via the internet or by telephone.

District and the Sheriffs Office to each adopt policies and restrictions for their offices or
the buildings that house their offices to ensure the public is provided access to their
essential services.
THAT, this Resolution and Declaration is necessary for the public health, safety
and welfare of the citizens of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado.
