Home My WebLink AboutR19-028 Appointments to the Eagle County Regional Transportation Authority Commissioner DUL4c1— • moved adoption of the following Resolution: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO o RESOLUTION NO. 2019- dv RESOLUTION CONCERNING APPOINTMENTS TO THE EAGLE COUNTY REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY BOARD WHEREAS, Eagle County maintains a county transportation authority pursuant to C.R.S. 29-2-103.5, with oversight of operations as a function of the Eagle County Board of Commissioners ("Commissioners"); and WHEREAS, Eagle County by Resolution NO. 96-22 created an advisory group under the name of the "Regional Transportation Authority" (hereinafter the "Authority Board"); and WHEREAS, Eagle County Resolution NO. 96-22 was replaced by Eagle County Resolution NO. 2016-027 which restated the duties and powers of the Authority Board and adopted updated and revised bylaws for conduct of business by the Authority Board; and WHEREAS, appointments of members to serve on the Authority Board are made by the Commissioners and such members serve at the pleasure of the Commissioners; and WHEREAS, the term of Jeremy Rietmann, the Town of Gypsum's regular member, expired on February 28, 2019; and WHEREAS, the Town of Gypsum requests that the Commissioners reappoint Jeremy Rietmann as a regular member for a term expiring on February 28, 2022; and WHEREAS, the term of Jim Hancock, the Town of Gypsum's alternate member, expired on February 28, 2019; and WHEREAS, the Town of Gypsum requests that the Commissioners reappoint Jim Hancock as an alternate member for a term expiring on February 28, 2022; and WHEREAS, the term of Valarie Blevins, the Town of Red Cliff's regular member, expired on February 28, 2019; and WHEREAS, the Town of Red Cliff requests that the Commissioners reappoint Valarie Blevins as a regular member for a term expiring February 28, 2022; and WHEREAS, the term of Lorenzo Sandoval, the Town of Red Cliff's alternate member, expired on February 28, 201 9; and WHEREAS, the Town of Red Cliff requests that the Commissioners appoint Art Fox as an alternate member for a term expiring on February 28, 2022; and WHEREAS, the term of Jenn Bruno, the Town of Vail's regular member, expired on February 28, 201 9; and WHEREAS, the Town of Vail requests that the Commissioners reappoint Jenn Bruno as a regular member for a term expiring on February 28, 2022; and WHEREAS, the term of Kevin Foley, the Town of Vail's alternate member, expired on February 28, 2019; and WHEREAS, the Town of Vail requests that the Commissioners reappoint Kevin Foley as an alternate member for a term expiring on February 28, 2022; and WHEREAS, the Commissioners wish to restate current appointments to the Authority Board and identify the term for each appointment. Said term expires on February 28, 2022. THAT,Jim Hancock be and is hereby appointed to the Eagle County Regional Transportation Authority as the alternate member for the Town of Gypsum. Said term expires on February 28, 2022. THAT, Valarie Blevins be and is hereby appointed to the Eagle County Regional Transportation Authority as the regular member for the Town pf Red Cliff. Said term expires on February 28, 2022. THAT, Art Fox be and is hereby appointed to the Eagle County Regional Transportation Authority as the alternate member for the Town of Red Cliff. Said term expires on February 28, 2022. • THAT,Jenn Bruno be and is hereby appointed to the Eagle County Regional Transportation Authority as the regular member for the Town of Vail. Said term expires on February 28, 2022. THAT, Kevin Foley be and is hereby appointed to the Eagle County Regional Transportation Authority as the alternate member for the Town of Vail. Said term expires on February 28, 2022. THAT, the Commissioners may in the future desire to appoint a member at large to serve as the ninth member of the Authority Board, which appointment shall be made by Resolution of the Commissioners. THAT, appointees to the Authority Board serve as volunteers only. Recommendations of the Authority Board are advisory and any such recommendation shall be presented to the Board of County Commissioners by staff on a schedule to be determined by the Board of County Commissioners. THAT, the appointments set forth herein to not constitute contractual obligations of the Board or employment terms for, or any other type of employment contract of the appointee; the Board in its sole discretion may change, add, or abolish such appointments and designations, and fill vacancies as it sees fit. THAT, the Board of County Commissioners finds, determines and declares that this Resolution is necessary for the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado.
