This being a scheduled Public Hearing,the following items were presented to the Board of County
Commissioners for their consideration:
Commissioner Updates
Commissioner McQueeney stated that there was one last screening of the film"Resilience"on May 3rd at
Colorado Mountain College. She highly recommended the film. The film was about children growing up with
trauma.
Commissioner Ryan provided an update on a health insurance bill working its way through the state
legislature. The bill could lower individual premiums on the individual market. She testified two weeks ago along
with several residents. She invited anyone with a pertinent story to contact her. She would continue to provide
updates.
Chairman Chandler-Henry reminded everyone that this Saturday was the 9 Health Fair at Gypsum Creek
Middle School starting at 7:30 am.

Kevin Sharkey, ECO Trails and Brandy Reitter,Town of Eagle Manager provided an update on the Eagle
River Park.
Commissioner McQueeney moved to approve the Consent Agenda for May 1, 2018, as presented.
Commissioner Ryan seconded the motion. The vote was declared unanimous.
Constituent Input
Chairman Chandler-Henry opened constituent input.
Joanne Rock spoke about an editorial about reinsurance, and believed it was a good step. She provided unofficial
census facts about the population in Colorado and background information on Medicaid and the American Health
Care Act funding.

Business Items
1. Resolution 2018-033 Designating May as Older Americans Month
Carly Rietmann, Public Health and Environment
Executive Summary: Each year, Eagle County celebrates May as Older Americans Month to show gratitude
towards our older Eagle County residents and all they do to make our communities whole.
Ms. Rietmann stated that every year this month they celebrated all the older Eagle County residents and all
they did to make the community whole. A video was shown of local seniors retelling their life stories.
Commissioner McQueeney moved to approve the resolution designating May as Older Americans Month.
Commissioner Ryan seconded the motion. The vote was declared unanimous.
Chairman Chandler-Henry talked about the resolution and urged all residents to celebrate the older
population.
