This being a scheduled Public Hearing the following items were presented to the Board of County
Commissioners for their consideration:
Resolution 97-167,1998 County Mill Levy
Allen Sartin, Finance Director, presented Resolution 97-167, adoption of the 1998 Eagle County Fiscal
Budget Mill Levy. He stated the valuation went down slightly and therefore the levy went up. It is still down over
last year. This year the levy is 7.463 mills compared to last year's which was 8,937 mills, He recommended
approval.
Commissioner Gates asked about the valuation going down,
Mr. Sartin reviewed the figures stating it had gone down compared to the budget proposal but has increased
over last year.
Commissioner Johnson moved to approve Resolution 97-167, adopting the 1998 Eagle County Fiscal
Budget Mill Levy,
Commissioner Gates seconded the motion, The vote was declared unanimous,
Certification of Local Government Mill Levies
Jim Fritze, County Attorney, stated in the past this was not done by resolution however, the Board does
certify the mill levy and send it on to the Division of Local Affairs, The Division of Local Affairs confirms to all of
the special district entities that have a mill levy,
Commissioner Gates stated it is the certification of the mill.
Commissioner Gates moved to certify all local government mill levies as presented.
Commissioner Johnson seconded the motion, The vote was declared unanimous.
There being no further business to be brought before the Board the meeting was adjourned until December
29, 1997.
