RESOLUTION NO. 2000- 6) 6
INCREASING THE RATES FOR THE EAGLE COUNTY LANDFILL
AND AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 96-141
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of
Colorado (the 'Board ") has determined that as nearly as possible, the cost of operating the Eagle
County Landfill should be paid from user fees rather than taxes; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens of Eagle County have expressed their desire to support waste
diversion efforts at the landfill and continue to fund the county -wide drop -off recycling program
through landfill user fees; and
WHEREAS, the Board has deemed it necessary to increase fees in order to generate
sufficient funds for regulatory mandates required by 6 CCR 1007 -2.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
1. That the rates for the use of the Eagle County Landfill be modified as follows:
Commercial /domestic trash ............... ............................... $23.10 per ton
Unseparated construction /demolition trash ...................... $43.90 per ton
Separated (clean) wood waste ........... ............................... $21.00 per ton
Tires:
Separated from trash ..................... ............................... $ 4.00 each
Unseparated from trash ................ ............................... $ 6.00 each
Minimum charge ........................... ............................... $ 6.00
Uncovered load ................................. ............................... $ 9.00 additional
These rates shall include the charge of sixty -seven cents ($0.67) per ton which is paid

quarterly to the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment as a funding
mechanism for the Hazardous Substance Response Fund and the Solid Waste Fund.
2. That the entire weight of mixed waste loads which contain 25% or more of
construction/demolition -type waste material shall be charged the construction/demolition
rate.
3. That "separated (clean) wood waste" be defined as discarded woody material to
include, but not limited to, loose dimensional lumber, sheet plywood scraps, particle
board scraps, wood pallets, trees, stumps, brush, yard waste, grass clippings, and leaves.
Small nails, screws, and metal fasteners contained within the scrap wood material shall be
acceptable as well. Determination of suitability of "separated (clean) wood waste" shall
be at the discretion of Eagle County Landfill personnel.
4. That the fees to Senior Citizens (age 65 years or older) for dumping their own
domestic trash continue to be waived.
5. That this Resolution shall be effective April 1, 2000.
6. That in order to achieve self - sufficiency of the Landfill, it is appropriate to annually
review the Landfill Fees and, if necessary, adjust them.
7. That this Resolution is necessary for the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of
Eagle County, Colorado.
