EAGLE COUNTY LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 2013-
RESOLUTION CONCERNING APPLICATIONS
FOR SPECIAL EVENTS PERMITS
WHEREAS, the Eagle County Local Liquor Licensing Authority (the "Authority ") is
authorized pursuant to C.R.S. § 12 -48 -107 to accept applications for special event permits for the
sale, by drink only, of fermented malt beverages, as defined in C.R.S. § 12 -46 -103, or the sale,
by drink only, of malt, spirituous, or vinous liquors, as defined in C.R.S. § 12 -47 -103, to
organizations and political candidates qualifying under Title 12, Article 48 of the Colorado
Revised Statutes; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. § 12 -48 -107 (5)(a), the Authority may elect not to notify
the state licensing authority to obtain the state licensing authority's approval or disapproval of an
application for a special event permit; and
WHEREAS, if the Authority formally elects not to notify the state licensing authority of
an application for a special event permit, Eagle County is required only to report to the state
liquor enforcement division within ten days after it issues a permit, the name of the organization
to which the permit was issued, the address of the permitted location, and the permitted dates of
alcohol beverage service; and
WHEREAS, as a matter of convenience to special event permit applicants, and to ensure
the more expeditious processing of such requests, the Authority wishes to elect to proceed under
C.R.S. § 12 -48 -107 (5) (a) and to independently approve or disapprove applications for special
event permits without prior or concurrent view by the state licensing authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LOCAL LIQUOR
LICENSING AUTHORITY FOR THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT, the Authority hereby elects to proceed under C.R.S. § 12 -48 -107 (5)(a) and
independently approve or disapprove applications for special event permits without first
notifying the state licensing authority of the application for the special event permit.
THAT, for each special event permit issued by the Authority, the Clerk to the Board of
County Commissioners will report to the state liquor enforcement division within ten days after a
special event permit is issued, the name of the organization to which the permit is issued, the
address of the permitted location and the permitted dates of alcohol beverage service.
THAT, Eagle County finds, determines and declares that this Resolution is necessary for
the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the County of Eagle, State of Colorado.
