BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 2012- 1
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ANY OF THE EAGLE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION AND
PRESERVATION OF THE SALTONSTALL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, Pitkin County applied to Great Outdoors Colorado for a grant to acquire
and /or permanently preserve certain land in Eagle County, Colorado known as the Saltonstall
Property comprised of the Ranch Parcel and River Parcel as more fully defined below; and

WHEREAS, G reat Outdoors Colorado, Eagle Count Pitkin Count Town of Basalt

and the Mid - Valley Trails Committee have all committed funds to the acquisition and
preservation of the Saltonstall Property; and
WHEREAS, o n Jul 3, 2012 the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County,

Colorado ( "Board ") approved the allocation of funds necessary to protect the Saltonstall
Property, including approximately 145 acres of land, known as the "Ranch Parcel" located at 794
Hooks Spur Road, Basalt, Eagle County, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, Pitkin County will acquire fee title to the Ranch Parcel and will grant a
conservation easement to Eagle County and Town of Basalt; and
WHEREAS, Andrew C. Saltonstall will also grant a conservation easement to Eagle
County, Pitkin County and the Town of Basalt on approximately 46 acres of land located known
as the "River Parcel" at 1087 Hooks Spur Road, Basalt, Eagle County, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, Eagle County has the authority to accept the conservation easements to
permanently preserve the Ranch Parcel and River Parcel; and
WHEREAS, in anticipation of closing and preservation of the Saltonstall Property, the
Board desires to grant any of the Eagle County Commissioners the authority to execute all
documents necessary for the closing and preservation effort.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF
COLORADO:
THAT, Eagle County has the authority and desires to accept conservation easements on
the Ranch Parcel and River Parcel; and

THAT, the Board authorizes any Commissioner to execute on its behalf any and all
necessary documents, instruments, papers or other forms necessary to permanently preserve and
conserve the Ranch Parcel and River Parcel in accordance with the Great Outdoors Colorado
grant requirements and in a form acceptable to the Eagle County Attorney's Office.
THAT, the Board of County Commissioners finds, determines and declares that this
Resolution is necessary for the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the County of
Eagle, State of Colorado.
MOVED, READ AND ADOPTED by County the Board of Count Commissioners of the
County of Eagle, State of Colorado, at its regular meeting held this ' day of DIA , 2012.
