BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO 2012 - b7�
RESOLUTION CONCERNING APPOINTMENTS TO THE
BASALT REGIONAL LIBRARY DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.S.R. 24- 90- 108(c), the legislative body of the respective
participating counties of the district shall appoint members to the library district board of
trustees; and
WHEREAS, Steve Rittvo, who was appointed by Resolution 2011 -033, and whose term
expires March 2014, has resigned from the Basalt Library District Board of Trustees, and the
Basalt Library District Board of Trustees desire to appoint a replacement to fulfill the remaining
term for Steve Rittvo; and
WHEREAS, Christine Tinner, who was appointed by Resolution 2011 -056, and whose
term expired March 2012, has elected to not request reappointment on the Basalt Library District
Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn Kane and Bernard Grauer desire appointment to the Basalt
Regional Library District Board of Trustees, and the Basalt Regional Library District has
recommended the appointment of Carolyn Kane and Bernard Grauer (letter of recommendation
and supporting documents attached hereto as Exhibit A); and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County desires to appoint
Carolyn Kane and Bernard Grauer as Eagle County representatives to the Basalt Regional
Library District Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, the following appointments do not constitute contractual obligations of the
County of Eagle or the Board, and the County is not legally bound for the respective terms of
appointment as specified herein below, the County having the authority in its sole discretion to
change, add or abolish such appointment and to fill vacancies as it sees fit.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT, Carolyn Kane is hereby appointed to the Basalt Regional Library District Board
of Trustees, replacing Steve Rittvo, her term to expire March 2014 or until such time as he /she is
reappointed or his /her successor has been appointed.
THAT, Bernard Grauer is hereby appointed to the Basalt Regional Library District
Board of Trustees for a three (3) year term, his term to expire March 2015 or until such time as
he /she is reappointed or his /her successor has been appointed.
THAT, a copy of this Resolution be submitted to the Board of County Commissioners of
the County of Pitkin, State of Colorado for their concurrence.
THAT, the Board of County Commissioners finds determines and declares that this
Resolution is necessary for the public health safety and welfare of the citizens of the County of
Eagle State of Colorado.
MOVED READ AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of the County
of Eagle State of Colorado at its regular meeting held the day of 14 1$012.
