COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION N0.2009-~~'~
RESOLUTION CONCERNING AN APPOINTMENT
TO THE
EAGLE VALLEY LIBRARY DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. 24-90-108(c), the legislative body of the respective
participating counties of the district shall appoint members to the library district board of
trustees; and
WHEREAS, Terry Smith, whose term expired on December 31, 2008, is recommended
for reappointment by the Eagle Valley Library District Board of Trustees (See Exhibit "A"
attached and incorporated herein); and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Eagle, State of
Colorado desires to make the reappointment of Terry Smith to the Eagle Valley Library District
Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, the following appointment does not constitute contractual obligation of the
County of Eagle nor of the Board, and the County and the Board are not legally bound for the
respective terms of appointment as specified herein below, the County, by and through the
Board, having the authority, in its sole discretion, to change, add, or abolish such appointment
and to fill vacancies as it sees fit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT, Terry Smith be and is hereby reappointed to the Eagle Valley Library District
Board of Trustees for a five (4) year term, said term to expire December 31, 2013.
THAT, the Board of County Commissioners finds, determines and declares that this
Resolution is necessary for the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the County of
Eagle, State of Colorado.
MOVED, READ, AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of

Dear Commissioners,
On behalf of the Eagle Valley Library District Board of Trustees, I am writing to
request you to appoint Terry Smith as a board member for the term 1 January 200y
through 31 December 2013. Since 15 May 2008, Terry has fulfilled the remainder of the
term from which Heather Sappenfield resigned that expired 31 December 2008. On 20
November 2008, the Eagle Valley Library District Board of Trustees voted unanimously
to recommend that Terry be named to the Board by the Eagle County Commissioners to
her own term on the Eagle Valley Library District Board.
Terry has been faithful at attending meetings, she has participated in library goal
setting workshops, and she has been active in advocacy for excellence in library service
to the people of Eagle County. She has a strong background in corporate finance and in
service to Eagle County through the Vail Valley Cares Board as a Board member since
2003, the Salvation Army, the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration personnel
committee lead and internal auditor; the Vail Mountain Rescue fund raising team, and
from 2002 - 2008 as a Commissioner on Avon Planning & Zoning.

action you take regarding it.
