COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION N0.2004 - D~0 V
CONCERNING THE RATIFICATION
OF AN APPOINTMENT
TO THE
BASALT REGIONAL LIBRARY DISTRICT
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, C.R.S. 24-90-108 empowers the Board of County Commissioners to make
appointments to the Board of Trustees of Library Districts; and
WHEREAS, on May 12, 2004, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of
Pitkin, State of Colorado, by way of Resolution Number 067-2004, attached and incorporated
herein as Exhibit "A," appointed Morgan Walsh as Pitkin County's Trustee to the Basalt
Regional Library District Board, said term to expire April 1, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Resolution Number 067-2004 was sent to the Board of County
Commissioners of Eagle County for our concurrence; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County has requested that
the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County ratify its appointment of Morgan Walsh as
Pitkin County's Trustee to the Basalt Regional Library Board; and
WHEREAS, the Basalt Regional Library District has recommended the appointment of
Morgan Walsh to the Basalt Regional Library District Board, see Exhibit "B" attached hereto
and incorporated by reference; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County desires to ratify the
appointment of Morgan Walsh as Pitkin County's Trustee to the Basalt Regional Library District
Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT, the appointment of Morgan Walsh as Pitkin County's Trustee to the Basalt
Regional Library District Board, said term to expire April 1, 2004, is hereby ratified.

1. Volunteer Citizen Boards are established per the Home Rule Charter and State
Statute, .
2. The Basalt Library $oard has advertised for a vacancy on the Pitkin County
position and recommends appointing Morgan Walsh,
3. The Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners would like to appoint
Morgan Walsh as the Pitkitt County representative to the Basalt Library Board.
NOW THEREFORE BE TT RESOLVED uy the Board of County Commissioners of
Pitkin County, Colorado, that Morgan Walsh be'appointed to the Basalt Regional Library
Board o;f Trustees.

Dear Pitkin County Commissioners:
Enclosed please find two applications and letters of interest submitted to the
Basalt Regional Library District Board for one Pitkin County vacancy.
The applicants are Morgan Walsh and Harry Temple 11. A third applicant, Randy
Fricke, withdrew his appbcation on Monday, April 19, 2004 because of other civic
obi'igations.
We have reviewed these applications and respectfully recommend that you
appoint Morgan Walsh to the library board positive.
Our next regularly scheduled library Board meeting will be held Monday. May
10. We wiN appreciate any cooperation you can offer to bring this person on
board for that meeting.
