COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 2004-~1 l ~s
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN OF THE
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO EXECUTE A SUMMER AIR SERVICE
AGREEMENT BETWEEN EAGLE COUNTY AND UNITED AIRLINES
WHEREAS, United Airlines wishes to enter into an agreement with Eagle County,
Colorado for new nonstop service between the Eagle County Regional Airport and Denver
effective June 3, 2004 and continuing through September 7, 2004; and
WHEREAS, United Airlines has proposed that the new nonstop service would be a B-757
aircraft to operate as follows: depart Denver 11:15 a.m. and arrive Eagle 12:08 p.m.; depart Eagle
1:08 p.m. and arrive Denver 1:56 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, United Airlines has forecast cash per round trip of $1,300 with a
requirement of $4,000 per round trip. The shortfall during the 97 days of operation and
consideration requested from Eagle County under any agreement is $261,900. The consideration
of $261,900 shall be reduced for every dollar that United Airlines generates above $1300 per
round trip; and
WHEREAS, United Airlines is preparing an agreement for summer air service on the
terms and conditions set forth above; and
WHEREAS, United Airlines desires to begin promoting and offering the flight for sale;
and
WHEREAS, such flight assists with the economic development of Eagle County and
allows opportunity for the citizens of Eagle County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF EAGLE, STATE OF COLORADO:
THAT, the Board hereby authorizes the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners
to execute the summer flight agreement between United Airlines and Eagle County upon the
condition that it is reviewed and approved for legal sufficiency by the Eagle County Attorney and
further upon the condition that it contain the terms or terms substantially similar to those
identified above in this Resolution; and
THAT, this Resolution is necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of
Eagle County, Colorado.
